I think this is the first fic I have read in which a rider is OP, but their dragon is not. Also, logically speaking, any and all changes from the canon have to be caused by time travel. Using chaos theory as an excuse is my recommendation, in combination with the butterfly effect as a backup. Or the other way around.
On the other hand... WUT? So... one can "Magically Tell" when a dragon hatches? Even if the series is on par with HP in terms of logic, that is internally inconsistent, as this is supposed to take place within the original series, just with a bit more time travel.
Otherwise... Please continue!
