... and this is where I leave the story. I can't see it going anywhere that I want to read.
Every time Harry in your story dares raise his head, do better, stand strong, he gets beaten down, told to behave, even told by his TEACHER not to do too well in his studies. I mean, what gives? Even his portrait mom has indicated that he needs a thrashing for - IMO - quite politely refusing to do a co-student's work for him. Snape is not blind. He knows that Malfoy is faking it. He just does not care. McGonagall behaves atrociously, immediately telling him that he must be in the wrong. Remus is behaving unprofessionally as a teacher, calling Hermione and Harry by their first names IN CLASS! And also afterwards, as the quasi stand-in parent, when he gives him an almost Dumbledorean "I am so disappointed in you" speech.
Good luck in your continued writing, this story is just not for me.

I stumbled across this story a few days ago and binge-read it in less than a week.
This has been a delightful story! The dark parts weren't too dark, and the fun parts didn't become over-the-top silly. The bad guys got their comeuppance and the people who were wronged were finally granted justice. And none of my favorite characters died.
All in all, this is an excellent story and I will definitely recommend it to other HP fans.

I'm sorry, but what the hell? Harry stood up for himself against an abusive teacher who was abusing his authority and who was giving a spoiled brat his way...yet you have it that Harry is the bad guy? He was still extremely respectful at the time, far more than I'd have been and I'm an adult! And to top it all off, Lily...who KNOWS at this point what Harry has been through as well as how Snape has been acting...DOESNT take Harry's side. What the hell? I'm actually glad this version of his parents are dead if that's what they would do if their child was being mistreated by a teacher. No good mother would allow their child to be treated that way. The only explanation I can think of is that the portraits are too stuck in their guilt over how they acted as CHILDREN to care about the fact that they are not helping their son.

I implore you? That's all I ask? Did Remus seriously just give Snape a pass on all the verbal abuse he's given Harry for two years? Why do so many people give him an easy pass on his absolutely horrible behavior? If Snape had been a teacher in the real world, he would have been fired for his treatment of Harry, let alone the other students. There is literally no excuse for treating a child the way Snape treats his students, and that's not even bringing mind reading into the picture.

"Everyone has been great for the most part." I'm sorry, but I laughed at that part. Has he already forgotten about all the trouble the other students and staff gave him over the Heir of Slytherin crap?

I feel like the sentences are too high. For instance even if she is a b*tch Umbridge does not deserve the kiss for what she did (blackmail and attempt of kiss).

Why would you want a friend that you had to explain everything you do to them because they are pissy about it

Why the hell would Dumbledore have a portrait in the heads office after the crap he pulled. He endangered students and was a thief, not to mention being complicit in child abuse. Nope a school full of students is not where his portrait needs to be.

What the hell is Ron's problem now. He thinks just because his parents are okay with their son getting Shitty grades it's okay for everyone else's. This us why I don't like the MoRon.

Very enjoyable story, thank you for sharing it with us. I found it interesting that Albus managed to find some humanity and even humility at the end, distinguishing him from the typical Manipulative Dumbledore cliche.
I know that you said no ships, but it seemed like there were hints of Harmony, if you squint, at different points of the story.
Interesting take on Severus, and it was good to see Sirius and James apologizing for some of the pranks.
Going to see what else you've written.

in reference to Dumbledore 's famous speech in Harry and Co's 3rd year, does it mean that Dumbledore himself didn't often remember toturn on the light "?

They had an appointment with the goblins at 10, not 9. This is good so far but feels...like things are too rushed.
