I think I've been spoilt by all the stories where HP is well spoken and intelligent, because HP here acts and speaks like a little kid. Which is kinda... authentic, but still weird.

Those friends of Harry. One is obsessive to know everything from him, but not herself. The other is obsessive with doing as little as possible and demands the same of Harry, not to mention his excessive jealousy.
None of them can be called good friends, except being irritating and a block around Harry's neck.

I skipped over a lot of this story because there were many uninteresting parts. Maybe I missed it but did Snape ever come clean about his role in Voldemort murdering the Potters? It seems like "justice" was dealt out to everyone for every infraction except Snape. Why did this bitter, petty man escape this author's wrath? At the time he committed his Death Eater crimes he was a full fledged adult. He knowingly joined a terrorist organization hell bent on murder, rape and the destruction of society. He was never even questioned on what he did as a death eater and he gets off free as a bird. James Potter even apologized to this asshole colaborator after he was dead! Snape helped put him in an early grave. Geesh how pathetic.
No one else in this story was given a bit of mercy, not even 13 year old children. Lame.

Have the aversion/violence charms been removed from the Dursleys? That would likely change their attitudes & make them regret their actions. Because of them, I think they should be given some clemency.

I do not know if it is necessary to follow canon as you are. It would have shortened it. Then again, it is your fic, and you can write it as you wish. It is a readable fic, and an enjoyable read.
