Hello! Such a sweet story! I know this story is 6 years old, but I thought it would be neat to have a follow-up story about Friedrich receiving the ring in a few years. Just a thought! Thanks!

A very sweet and moving fic! I love that Georg keeps his wedding ring on for so long after his wife has gone. It shows that his love for Agathe didn't die with her. What's interesting too is that he never even removed his ring as he courted Elsa, but is ready to do it now he's found love with Maria, which speaks volumes.

This is so beautifully written, it's just gorgeous.
Georg wearing his wedding ring years after his wife passed is such a powerful symbol of their love and his grief. I love the conversations he had with Maria and Agathe's photograph (which was so heartwrenching). It's so important to him to feel that he has Agathe's approval of Maria as a wife, but also as a mother to their children. Maria fits the bill so perfectly, he actually "accuses" Agathe of sending her to him. Georg recalling his wife's prayer said so much about Agathe and her love for Georg.
Georg finally removing his ring, finally letting go of so much sadness and burden, was so symbolic.
Wonderful writing, gorgeous details.

What a beautiful story. I love that period just after the Gazebo and it's wonderful to read different peoples takes on what might have happened. You wrote his conversation with Agathe perfectly and I'm sure he would have gone through all of those emotions before finally finding peace. Your story really is serene and gentle and absolutely wonderful.

I don't know if I contributed to said conversation, but in any case, you are welcome.
This was beautiful. I love post-gazebo moment stories.
I loved the only running into his arms comment. I loved how Agathe didn't tell him outright to marry again, but instead he overheard her.
Just beautiful.

A very sweet and romantic story about the two women in Georg's life. I like the closure he receives and the courage he has to begin living and loving again. I also like the description of Maria's angst when she returns to the villa and finds out that G is engaged to Elsa. You can literally feel the breath being taken out of her.
Thank you for writing!
