I'm definitely enjoying this story so far! And I'm always a sucker for characters being split up, so you can be sure I'm looking forward to seeing how long it takes them to find each other again.
I'm also with you 100% on the AU thing. Retelling a story is okay, but I do prefer seeing they way they spiral out of control when something is altered from the original. So keep it up! I might not always review (I have way too little free time, what with kids, fics, and now NaNo to boot), but I am definitely reading along as you post!

I love how this story seems to flow off into a delectable dream. The way the characters clash and go together is so perfect, I could read something like this for hours... keep up the good work.
