I absolutely loved this! I'm so glad you did an alternate ending to A Disarranged Marriage, so that Hermione and Marcus could find happiness together! As I said in my review of that fic, I really do enjoy the way you've written his character. I honestly think Hermione and Ron, as characterized in canon, would have ended in divorce, no matter what the epilogue had for them. The way you wrote Ron's hot-headedness and inconsistency rings true, as does Hermione's stubbornness and her goal-orientation. Also, I quite agree with the idea that Hermione would have found it very difficult to forgive him for walking out on her and Harry. But mostly, I just don't think they're a good match.
Does your Ron fit canon perfectly? Dunno, but certainly it's a believable version of him. We can't ask the same question for Marcus, since canon just doesn't delve into his personality, keeping him a caricature 'evil Slytherin.' Your Marcus has depth, personality, motivation. And matching Harry with Millie is just the cherry on top - I love stories that pair the two of them!

I know I've read this story before and while the prior story ending with the Hermione/Ron pairing is good, I like this one better. It is still enjoyable to me after all this time though I would love to read a Harry/Hermione pairing story if you wrote one.

I think I've never seen someone use the word "insouciance" beforehand.
Really like your stories but they remind me a tad too much of the huge gap between my own school english and the "natural" vocabulary of an (educated) native-speaker.
