Interesting story thank you for sharing. Less predictable direction than a lot out there. Even though I’m reading this as a finished work I have to remind myself of little details later, like Carlotta was in love with a different tenor and Piangi is an animal trainer with a gambling problem. I am not so sure Erik would have dared to take the stage to sing opposite anyone but Christine, even if it’s unlikely any other voice could do his part justice. I really appreciate the dedication it must take to keep posting methodically for years to get everything wrapped up in such a long story. And I even noticed you got ‘chord’ and ‘physique’ spelled correctly by the end. Maybe not so popular with some readers, but I also like that you left the full ending to some imagination. We have the direction and most likely next destination but you didn’t feel the need to narrate yet another fairy tale wedding or rush into expecting babies. I’d like to think Christine has a chance to build a career first. Since I’m a late-comer to fanfic I’m off to see what else you have buried in the archives. Thanks again!

I’m curious how bad the boy’s face is meant to look and wonder if Erik didn’t create a representation even worse than he really looked as a boy. I’ve recently read about an experiment where people described themselves and others described them to sketch artists who created two separate drawings. The one where people described themselves accentuated any flaw and the others were closer to reality, because people tend to have a negativity bias and focus too much on features they find lacking, while outsiders tend to recognize the whole

A difficult chapter to read - but well written. The dialogue was believable, for how they each would both feel at this revelation, as well as understandable (especially with thoughts paired to actions). I enjoyed this chapter (even if I wanted to lock them both in a room and throw away the key! lol)
