Uh wow okay Christmas ideas...the ninja go to the birch forest or some winter wonderland and Zane (or any ninja) teaches the others how to skate or something? -if u wanted it to go downhill from there, then make someone slip or get lost or maybe a bad guy comes and ruins the fun. Or what about the ninja are just chilling, y'know a little fluffy moment or something, and then theres a crime and they whine "ugh why can't we get a break? It's Christmas!" or something. But thee has to be a twist with the criminals...or like? Idk off the top of my head.
I did hear about the four episode mini movie tho and the shade being thrown!
Looking forward to the next update, whenever thst shall be.

I saw the announcement! I for one am very excited, but then again I'm always excited for new Ninjago content regardless of what it is. I'm especially excited for whatever this Yin Yang thing with Jay and Nya is, as I've been a Jaya shipper ever since "Do you like blue?" Now for the chapter review!:
Kai and Cole are finally on good terms again! I think. Yeesh the things these poor teens go through, and then they have to save the world on top of everything. I actually forgot about the ninja's parents (except Misako) not knowing about the aliens. Poor Lou must've been terrified XD I don't know what I'd do if a sink screamed at me. Another slobber joint bites the dust, the Technicians and they're cohorts seriously should not have angered the ninja. They may decorate drones with glitter but once they're angry it's allll over. I had no idea the customer was Zane, he's a really good actor. And speaking of Zane I love his dialogue with Kai at the end there, it was great! XD
That's funny how you're trying to write an original Christmas story, I'm actually writing a story where one of the characters is trying to write an original Christmas story, one that does not involve the tropes that you listed. I had trouble coming up with ideas myself (I'm still not even completely certain on the premise) but I can try to offer some ideas.
Everyone is overtaken by some Christmas Cheer hive mind, and the Ninja have to fix it or else all of Ninjago will be celebrating Christmas everyday for the rest of their lives.
There's some sort of epic snowball war that takes place around Christmas and all the ninja have a team with the other characters, or they're all a team together. And uh... Hi jinks happen or something. :P
The ninja enter a Christmas bake off just because but then dinosaurs show up and... *stops and reads what I wrote* Welp I'm out of ideas, I hope this was at least somewhat helpful XD

Yeah, four episodes edited into a movie length isn't really confidence inspiring. I dunno if you're familiar with Disney's Gargoyles, but the series starts out with a five part story arc which Disney later released as Gargoyles: The Movie or something like that. Which was those five episodes, compressed into an hour and forty minutes or so. It was bad, man. XD
I am so sorry, but now I'm thinking about Skylor visiting Kai in his new bed and how that would work out. Not very well, if you ask me. People would end up on the floor, I'm sure. XD

Decorating. Trust me, SO many unexpected shenanigans can happen while trying to string lights/going tree-hunting/decorating said tree/dragging all the ornament boxes out of storage/whatever else happens to get a house festive for the holidays. For my family personally, we've had at least three different trees do faceplants on the floor while we try to put tinsel on it, at least one instance where the outdoor lights got frozen into the icicles, one year where we misplaced all the tree ornaments and had to go digging through our storage for right boxes... there's so much that can go hilariously wrong and I think you could probably milk it for all that it's worth.
If you like the idea, that is.

Gah, the tension. Sure isn't easy on Kai either with all this venom business. Oh man, Lloyd thinking about the future of this team... it's true, it's kind of surprising they haven't had any huge falling-outs yet, they only split apart once because of Zane's death, and probably won't be together indefinitely. Thinking about it makes me sad, but don't doubt your stubborn buddies too much Lloyd, they'll always find a way to stick around :P
Ouch, I guess Skippy's mother... didn't take it well. Or was already off the deep end? That's heavy

Well that only took nearly a week, but I'm caught up.
Not gonna lie, I was avoiding this one for a while. The title struck me as strange, the alien idea was throwing me really hard, and the description was vague. A vague description is either a really good, or a really bad sign in my experience. Either the story is poor and the writer is trying to make up for the weak plot with forced mystery, or the story is a long complex plot that the writer can't concisely explain without spoilers. (In case you can't tell, you are CLEARLY the latter)
I really love your characterization. Everyone felt right. You found a way to make me mad at most the characters without villainizing them, which is hard to you have picked a biiiiit too much on Kai. You haven't taken it too far, but it seems like every turn of the story he's in the doghouse with someone for one reason or another. Kai screwing something up or being wrong is getting a tad bit old and repetitive.
And perhaps you haven't picked enough on Jay. I'll forgive it, he's clearly your favorite and the story focus. I don't feel like it's been a conscious choice on your end though, which is why I'm telling you. It might be in your blind spot, and lord knows, we all need others' help with those.
As I stated before, I LOVE how you're incorporated Lloyd's school in. It's something that gets forgotten and shoved a way too often. (Hell, it's something I wish the show would acknowledge more.)
Preeeetty sure I know how Mindy's going to be important here in a bit. I had two theories I was ping-ponging between, and you just confirmed one wasn't it.

Awww poor Skippy, I hardly knew ye, I hope he'll be alright. I loved the line about the fangirls being unable to get in. Fangirls truly are a force to be reckoned with, never underestimate them, they can be quite frightening. O_o
"Feel the luxuriance of it's wool." Zane pets Lloyd's hair solemnly. Ha! That part had me cracking up, Lloydfish is one of the greatest things to ever exist. Also I love how Zane and Lloyd just casually talk about the Overlord having cavities. Like facing down monstrous all-powerful beings is so normal for them they can just chat about mundane things such as their enemies dental hygiene. XD
Also the ninja are terrible at making PSAs. You can't trust these teenagers to do anything right! XD
Oof that latest chapter was dramatic! I had actually forgotten about Skylor and the suspicious guy but then I was like "oh yeah!" I'll have to go back and reread some of these chapters when I have some spare time. (So I can get a refresher and just because they're great.)
I'm glad that they were able to get mostly everyone to the Bounty safely! Hoo boy though, those Technicians made a big mistake going after their friends and families. They're in for it now. Can't wait to see how it goes down!

I’m still an absolute mess of words and not-words, but the first thing that comes to mind is I can ABSOLUTELY tell you have siblings? I have siblings as well and let me tell you, the perfect banter and continuous jokes and dialogue and the occasional you’re-a-jerk-and-I’m-mad-at-you-but-I-Love-you-and-would-run-a-man-over-for-you is. Perfect.
I’m honestly going to have to go back and reread to see if I can catch some hints because I’m DYING at how well-planned this whole thing ends up being, it’s like one of those big cork boards with red string all over it. *shakes the shoulders of the person nearest me* WHY is he growing his hair out. alright, alright, I'm halfway in, so I legally have to stop to leave a review at least before I keep going. Did you know I've been reading this nonstop since last night? I took a break to sleep but like, not a long one.
I have got to say, this is like the MOST fun I've ever had reading a fic. I'm constantly in awe of the perfect transition between happy fun dorky family times and very, very serious moments that make my heart sink. It's so GOOD! oh my gosh! I don't like... ever read longfics, because I have the attention span of a goldfish, but this is so perfectly snappy and reads like a comic book series, I could draw this out with that good good descriptive writing! and i JUST NOW realized you have chapter titles and theyre the funniest things i've read in forever i'm just cackling reading through them all HJKFGSIUHKJ
and the characterization! is so on point! They stick to who they are at the core while going through all this crazy stuff and it's amazing! I simultaneously have way too many words and not enough words to like, articulate them aside from [horrific excited screeching] I'm so sorry ahahahha let's try some bullet points that are (maybe?) comprehensible
- lloydfish nature documentary (HSFJKDH his mop of hair is endlessly amusing for me)

alright, alright, I'm halfway in, so I legally have to stop to leave a review at least before I keep going. Did you know I've been reading this nonstop since last night? I took a break to sleep but like, not a long one.
I have got to say, this is like the MOST fun I've ever had reading a fic. I'm constantly in awe of the perfect transition between happy fun dorky family times and very, very serious moments that make my heart sink. It's so GOOD! oh my gosh! I don't like... ever read longfics, because I have the attention span of a goldfish, but this is so perfectly snappy and reads like a comic book series, I could draw this out with that good good descriptive writing! and i JUST NOW realized you have chapter titles and theyre the funniest things i've read in forever i'm just cackling reading through them all HJKFGSIUHKJ
and the characterization! is so on point! They stick to who they are at the core while going through all this crazy stuff and it's amazing! I simultaneously have way too many words and not enough words to like, articulate them aside from [horrific excited screeching] I'm so sorry ahahahha let's try some bullet points that are (maybe?) comprehensible
- lloydfish nature documentary (HSFJKDH his mop of hair is endlessly amusing for me)
- "you can't talk, you're dead"
- SKALES JR... CUTE... a Baby. I can't believe lloyd's a good big brother AND a dorky little brother
- in that same vein *dashes rat against a wall* "wimp." (everyone else: D: )
- "i really wanted to weaponize a convenience store" THATS A MOOD
- the jaya shaped hole in my heart... filled... i don't believe it i'm so soft
- they're. Such. A . FAMBLYYYY
- aliens... is precious. they are Cute and i'm attached to them now
- so what would happen theoretically if I were to just like... keep binge-reading this thing. It's 9:30 at night, i think it'll be fine (but will my heart be? thats still up in the air)
anyways thank you for writing this! I'm excited to see where it goes and hopefully (if the discord's reactions are in any way indicative of anything) I won't die when I get to the last-updated chapter! I feel like I just jinxed myself. No one say anything

BTW Thank-you so much for acknowledging Lloyd's villain upbringing! As much as he is a literal ray of sunshine that doesn't like to hurt people, a lot of writers forget he was raised on the practice. He's nice, but not innocent. Lloyd knows how to steal your freaking wallet! Lloyd makes the choice to do good, but he KNOWS how to be bad. (Or at least, elementary bad. He was kicked out)
