I've never read Lovecraft and never intend to, but I understood and enjoyed this so well done for making it comprehensible to a reader who's entirely outside one of the fandoms. I think the very best bit was Professor Flitwick, right at the end, debating assigning an essay on "Why we must never summon Great Old Ones at Dinnertime, or for that matter, Ever" - the capital letters on Dinnertime and Ever made it funnier for some reason.
I'm also very glad, personally, that the emphasis was on Humour rather than Horror.
