This has been absolutely fantastic, thank you for writing it.
I just got back from listening to a cello concerto with my dad, and I'd got up to the bit where he calls her 'Mom' before we headed off, so I've spent several hours sorta stewing on that, and her response did not disappoint.
This story in general has been very emotionally charged. Lots of pain, lots of perseverance, and just *screams*. It feels very Star Wars.
