Duncan seems to have an awesome relationship with his wonderfully nice and understanding father (sarcasm).
I wonder if the witness was a TD character or just a random person.
Also I wondrous what's going to happen to Courtney! Is the shadow going to hurt her? Will Duncan ever solve the case of the mysterious man? These questions and more will be answered in the next chapter on shadowplayer!

Instantly when I saw the title I was like 'Shadowhunter'. I was thinking some sort of Mortal Instruments kinda thing. Which wouldn't be bad, because it was great series. But then I actually read the prologue and I quickly realised it wasn't really A Mortal Instruments kind of thing. It was really interesting to read and it was nice to know what the whole story was behind the Shadowplayers before you started into the main story.
And there was a pretty big gap in the timeline. How does it just stop? Hopefully you'll cover that in some later chapters. The whole idea that there's no exact way to tell what happened next really interests me.
This was a great start to an awesome story, Chloe. You've really got a strong idea here, and even though you didn't finish this for NaNo, it would be good to see you finish this in your own time.
