Ah, what a reunion. I had a feeling something like this would play out. Good ol' Alfred for being his usual cheerful self and being the hero X3
Honestly, your remarkable work always has me pumped up and this story is definitely no different. I can't wait to see where you go with this and how USUK will develop. I'm also eager to see more flashbacks of Alfred and Arthur's past. Keep up the excellent work :D

That ending made me want to both cry and hug them. Geezum, this is something else. There was...a certain suspense building from the beginning of the chapter, for when Alfred would meet Arthur, and I was anxious with Alfred, to see the extent of how Arthur's affected. But then Alfred coming in and thinking he can just cheer Arthur up and things will be better, I had to cover my face at that part. No Alfred...it doesn't work like that. But that was pretty fascinating, seeing Alfred's perspective before, during, and after meeting Arthur. It's interesting, since Alfred probably doesn't have much experience at all with mental illnesses, or so I'm assuming from his behavior towards this. Or maybe he was just completely fixated on the fact that this is Arthur they're talking about, and he just can't picture it, because this kind of thing doesn't happen to people we really know. A bit of both I would guess. But still, so fascinating to see Alfred's reaction for when the reality of it set in, but still see his determined personality push through it in the end. I like how he holds onto the fact that "Arthur was, after all, still Arthur." It's something very characteristic of him, even though others are like, "He's not the same anymore, Alfred." Hell, even Arthur seems to see himself as completely different, though that's not surprising. I do wonder about his life though, about the build up to this, what he was doing before, the same questions Al probably has I suppose. Oh! But it's so cool to see snippets of their high school time together woven in this story. It gives a concrete feel to their previous bond. Anywho, this is really great, so I hope to see more.

I was bracing myself when you warned about Arthur's condition. I was hoping for the worse. I still am, 'cause I know you will eventually let Arthur show his even quirkier side. What you wrote in this chap is only a small part from a bigger picture (which I believe so...O.o )

But still, I'm glad Alfred didn't resolve to running away immediately(which is CERTAINLY not going to happen in a UsUk fic XD). And the process of his eventual decision to visit...it's just...Idk why but I feel so touched QwQ. It's true when they say about people visiting a psych patient, even if it's for a friend, they just won't go back as recent as possible. Being determined to catch up with their relationship, even if fully realizing how Arthur is, it's really brave and (insert heroic term) of Alfred. I would like to wish him keep up for better for worse, but you know what?

Of course he will! XD

P.S. haha didn't mean to turn this so lengthy but anyway, great chapter! Can't wait for the coming ones CX
