I'm slightly disappointed.
I was hoping that you were continuing the orginal but it comes off as more nautical and more pirate themed that I want to read, and more OC characters that I wondered why I needed to remember.

I was recently going through my bookmarks to look for updates and realized I hadn't subscribed to this story and had missed that it had recently been updated. Welp, I fixed that straight away, as this story and its predecessor are among my favorites.

Spalling is why the Burkes (and many modern ship classes) have kevlar linings. But you don't try boarding actions with metal ships anyway. All the American magicals need is a Gearing or High-Endurance Cutter "sold for scrap" to act as a flotilla leader. The 5-inch/38 on the Gearings can outrange any ship in the Carribean. Use the tin can to thoroughly pummel enemy ships and let the tall ships swoop in and take prizes. But that would be a bit of deus ex machina... XD

FFnet didn't alert me to this chapter update last week, so I'm soooo glad I checked in this morning! I wish you could have seen my grin when I saw "In enemy waters" near the top of the Story Alerts list.
"What is Luna?" is a question that's been asked many times in the fandom. I can appreciate Margret wanting to apply a label like "Seer" or "Empath" to her, to find a nice category and metaphorical box to put her in, but I'm in favor of a Luna that casually defies any definition and just walks right through the walls of said box whenever she pleases. Luna just IS, and her friends may sometimes be confused and even frustrated by her, but she makes their world just a little more beautiful by being there.
