Some stories are mainly character-driven and I've been processing too much of those lately, so this lore/situation-driven story is FANTASTICAL AND BADASS AND BREATHTAKING AND A PERFECTLY GOOD REASON TO FOREGO GRAMMATICAL CONVENTIONS VIA CAPS LOCK. It's refreshing, to me at least; perfect fantasy. There were a few instances where I didn't agree with Starlight's characterization. If she rejects being special in every way, what was she going to do with the Mane 6's cutie marks when she set them aside in "The Cutie Map"? And I wanted to protest that she isn't insane, not really... But then, this story is YOUR alternate version, so she very well can be. I like the idea of her rejecting being an alicorn, though the highest position I can see her being offered is one similar to Starswirl's. Anyhow, this chapter did a great job of weaving mlp's universe into a reader-ensnaring situation that we won't want to escape from.
