Oh, neat, an Easter Special!
...
...
I have come to the conclusion that almost everyone in this story is an idiot.

I know I haven't reviewed on a while. That's primarily because my phone died. Anyway, I'm loving the new groups!
Legendaries:
I can't wait to see more of these guys. They're so stupid it's funny! And poor Tornadus... No, wait. Poor us! If Tornadus smells of perfume, won't all the winds smell like perfume? *shudders in horror*
The Boss Lyra (TBL):
Why did you even go to the trouble of capturing her in the first place?! Poor Lyra...
Orange Leon Kara (OLK):
The Boss wants Leon to train Orange? Interesting... Incidentally, is Kara related to Iris from BW? The way she keeps calling Orange a kid...
Lustrous Eleanor Nicholas (LEN):
Come on, Eleanor. You can do better than that! You're a ninja! Control your habits!
Mithril Adamant Kaz (MAK):
Mithril... is rather weak, isn't she... Also, yay! Donuts! Good job, Adamant! Also, I'm getting kind of interested in 700's back story.
Lapis Banana Grisseo (LBG):
Unlucky Lapis, eh? Poor Lukree, nobody listens to her... And even poorer Grisseo, Riolu are tough... But wait! He's up! Could he be under the divine protection of Darkrai?!
Natalie Ethan Will Lyra (NEWL):
Who's Will?
The Great Escape of Epicness:
There are no words for how epic this was...

Oh hey, Copper, you're back. Now the opening and ending can be slightly less empty and depressing

Pepsi
1) It was interesting to see primary characters keeping petrified, but it kind of seems like cheating to just fix all the damage with no consequences to anyone. I mean, why didn't the monster just kill them?

Sprite
1) You've really set up the 700/Kaz arc like the Greek tragedies of old. I mean, you already have the first three steps down, I could easily see this ending like a Italian opera.
2) I like that we've been given more backstory on Silver, Crystal, and Gold. I still hate Gold, but giving a character a decent backstory can often be the difference between someone being a character some people don't like and someone being a character who is objectively bad.
3) I normally hate dream sequences, but this was a pretty alright one (even if that is like saying, I don't typically like being punched in the gut but at least this time their hands were clean).

I realized that I forgot to tell you the rest of that story about the monk. Okay, so there was once a really, really stupid monk that nobody liked because he had no intelligence at all... (to be continued)
1) I forget, who's #Ihategarconmorris again?
2) Is Crystal trying to discreetly kill King Gold by sending him to the front lines so she can rule unobstructed, or have I been reading too much Game of Thrones?

Finally! I can't believe that I'm so late in reading and reviewing this… anyway! Crystal Destroyer the scythe, eh? Nice! Even while being outmatched, it's nice to see Mithril fight off against someone like Genevieve. A wind-based sword, eh? Interesting… I'm glad you didn't go with the stereotypical flaming/ice/lightning sword, though, so thank you for that! Hold on… PALMER, of all people, told Lustrous to be a farmer? O…kay… darn… Mithril knows how to make an embarrassing situation into a "send-the-opponent-flying" moment… and, yes, cockroaches are far more tenacious and powerful than most people give them credit for! Fear the attack of roach army! Of course Lustrous would call forth her inner Pearl XD ouch… then again, I can't really fault Kara… Lapis used Searing Shot! Grisseo was BURNED XD! Oh wow XD Darkrai used Last Resort! Lapis used Close Combat! Grisseo FAINTED XD yeah, mere mortals wouldn't understand the differences between "A Darkrai" and "THE Darkrai"… poor #IHateGarconMorris… while I know that this Ninetails is all powerful and all, Darkrai should still be able to outspeed it as the fox only has a base speed stat of 100… that, and… Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse…? Hehehe, I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I liked the Sonic reference there! Ah, Kara and Orange would have been done for had it not been for the observant Leon… darn… with how easily Crystal agreed with Silver, one would wonder why she married Gold in the first place… yeah, Natalie DEFINITELY reminds of Yang right there XD

Something that I definitely have to applaud you guys for, apart from the regular weekly update schedule of course, is how much you guys have improved since writing the first chapter! I know that I don't really give much feedback-esque comments here, which is primarily because a humor-based story requires different feedback than something like an angst or hurt/comfort focused story (and, admittedly, humor isn't my area of strength), but you two have been improving greatly throughout this story's development; and I wanted to highlight this. Great work and, as always, keep it up you two!

KING GOLD ACTUALLY SAID SOMETHING USEFUL OH MY GLOB WE'RE ALL DOOMED THE WORLD IS ENDING THE WORLD IS ENDING!

Good job, Mithril! You take over the world!

Nat's love for pickles is almost as great as her love for flapjacks? Wow.

The author notes feel kind of lonely with only one person

Stuff that made me cry
1) Considering Kaz was able to beat Mithril in like, three seconds, I kind of have a hard time believing Gen would have any difficulty at all with her. At least before she went into that mega-ultra-angel-of-vengeance-magic-girl mode
2) I don't quite understand why the boss, this guy who has been built up as an entity of destruction, just took 700 and ran away when the majority of people threatening him were already pretty scared of him. Especially since it meant abandoning his main base of operations
3) Something about Kaz and Benjen's dynamic seems a bit off. Maybe it's just that every time they share screentime, she becomes a screechy fangirl while he becomes a crying mess (which, seeing as how he hasn't really done anything else in awhile, is starting to make him seem like a male version of Princess Peach); so far, they're most interesting interactions have been when they weren't interaction.

Stuff that made me not-cry
1) I also admire Cockroaches; even if I do want to also annihilate all of them to prove humanity's superiority over nature
2) I like that we're starting to build a lore around the world; it makes things feel more alive when there's a story and a history to everything

Stuff that made me tilt my head while a spontaneous question mark floated above me
1) How did Mithril turn into a mega-ultra-angel-of-vengeance-magic-girl?
2) What exactly is Lust's and Ad's whole backstory?
3)Where are Orange's parents? Why are they letting him do this kind of stuff? Are they still petrified?
4) Why didn't the boss just kill them?
5) Is this all going to end with The Boss and Orange fighting a music battle? Violin vs banjo?

The smiley face pillow is Korosensei from Assassination Classroom, isn't it?
5/2/2016 c17 26BlueCelebi
Oh no! D: That evil Kyuukushu turned some of my favorite characters to stone! And grrrr, The Boss is awful!
5/2/2016 c17 60Falneou17
Well… you're half right, 700… while it is true that we need to control our emotions in order to grow, it is also true that we need our emotions to live fully… after all, what would put us above machines if we didn't have our emotions? Right off with a flashback, and a big one at that… both in length and content, wow… I know that there are quite a few differences, but I'm getting SSC vibes from that… oh well, and right after that jumping to a scene with Eleanor? Hehehe, I would say poor Eth but way to go Ly, outshining even royalty XD Aw, poor Aqua… and poor Eleanor… and Nicholas… oh wait, Natalie is captured, too, isn't she? Poor Natalie… that, and the fact that she is naïve beyond description XD a trait that fits her surprisingly well, too XD even when given an opening like that, he still refuses to go for the kill… I actually feel sorry for Leon and Kara… the first two times when you guys used that joke it was funny, but it got old quite quickly, unfortunately… yup, definitely feeling sorry for Leon… no… Lapis… of course, one of the characters is going to be a descendent, aren't they…? Eh… while you're not wrong in terms of the definition of those words, it's funny how you're using Japanese terms after how we talked how people are using Japanese terms in their English stories XD waiting for another update it is then… great development plot- and writing-wise, though! Way to go!

More of Benjen's backstory. Wow...
You did a really good job on that, you know.
And Sparky Sparky Boom Man? What, was he also a combustionbender?
And Kaz makes it to the hideout! Genevieve is screwed...
Two questions: How are they going to get Benjen's memories back? And will the magic violin play a role into this?
Then the royals and ninja prepare for war. Are you going to give Lorelei or some of the merfolk soldiers some chocolate? Because then things will definitely be interesting...
Some training with Orange and Leon...
And lastly, the reveal of the Ninetails! Is the Boss the man with the Dark Balls?
Who will win the war-merfolk or humans?
Will Orange, Leon, and Kara make it to Mt. Silver?
Shall Lapis, Grisseo, and Lukree come out alive?
Find out next time on: The Hero Bard!

So here's how my day was going; "Oh darn, we're moving and the tv has been moved over so now I can't watch netflix. Oh snore, I've already played most of the games on my computer and really aren't in the mood for any of them. Oh sigh, the only thing I have left is writing but no ideas are flowing through my head and I really don't feel like sitting at a screen watching the little bar blink over and over again. But wait, what's this in my email; oh goodie, now I can read this story!"

Experience the pain of a life without Netflix!
1) I kind of hate King Gold. If it weren't for Queen Crystal, I'd say the not-ninja need to form an uprising and turn the Monarchy into an Imperial Autocracy; Rome did that and it turned out reasonably well.
2) Orange's little segment was kind of funny, but I feel like you could have stopped at three. After that, it just started to drag on.

And here's a little relief.
1) 700's story was definitely well-constructed, and gave a good glimpse into how much of an evil a-hole the Boss is. I always felt that for an evil overlord that everyone feared he hadn't been doing a lot of evil stuff; this fixed that pretty thoroughly. I also liked how you tied in all his different aliases and false identities at the end.
2) I love Mithril's determined...determination during her segment. I like characters that have that kind of drive to complete their goals, no matter the cost.
3) I underestimated Queen Crystal. Anyone who can force other characters to pay attention to the plot is worthy of respect.
4) Luckree actually got a pretty cool line at the end. That's nice; everyone should have a cool moment of awesome at least once in their life.
5) Even though I'm pretty sure that's not how Japanese works, Kyuukushu has a pretty awesome name.

So, have you heard the one about the mute monk?
1) How did Kaz gain the ability to sink into the floor? I'm guessing her pokemon helped somehow, but I'm not very well-versed on pokemon moves. Does he have some move that lets him do that with people?
2) As the ruling government, couldn't they have just confiscated all magic level-up gems (I'm pretty sure they have those in pokemon) from the pheasants, merchants, and royal treasury and use that to build an army?
3) So if The Boss sealed away a monster that has probably caused more death than he has, does that make him an accidental anti-hero by default?
4) What were all those things that Kyuukushu were referring to? Is this something that you have to have played Pokemon to understand?
4/25/2016 c16 60Falneou17
It could be just me, but those bandits remind me a bit of the Baran brothers… I dunno why… yeah, fear the Leon XD and fear the incompetent sword fighter swinging a sword like a madman xD not sure whether to fear for his opponents or himself, but that's beside the point… awww… while I have to agree with Kara that they don't have time for this, I also agree with Leon that Orange needs to grow up… O.O I dunno whether to applaud Eleanor for her infinite supply of optimism or groan at her naïvety… Well Kaz… to answer your question… a sister with a horrid past and a grudge like no other… hm… a giant Ninetails that can petrify Pokémon… interesting… now to find out what could scare someone like the Boss as much as you two are suggesting it is…
4/25/2016 c16 26BlueCelebi
Yaaaay, Mithril hath decided do assist Kaz! I'm really happy with how that played out. I'm becoming addicted to this story; as soon as I see there's an update, I spring to it!
4/23/2016 c16 4DeathDealer Inc
Before reading the chapter: You chose a pretty good eye-grabbing title. When the guy who watches Game of Thrones without blinking feels anticipation, you've done something right.

Sour
1) It doesn't make much sense how those three guys were able to get the drop on someone like Kara
2) I felt like the payoff for the backstory was kinda...meh. I mean, everyone has someone close to them die; if 'I lost a loved one' is the only reason for someone turning evil, it sounds more like an excuse than a legitimate trauma
3) Considering that the chapter is titled 'The Boss is Afraid' I didn't quite feel the fear from him

Sweet
1) Eleanor seemed to take a level in awesome when she was isolated from friends and put in a dangerous scenario. It takes a special kind of tough to look at someone threatening to torture you and say 'I guess we'll be doing that.'

Quest(ions)
1) How did three idiot bandits manage to sneak up on Kara?
2) Who put a psychic monstrosity between a kingdom and a famous mountain?
3) How would that never be noticed? People go from all over the world to see Mt. Everest, why wouldn't people go from the kingdom over to this mountain and stumble onto the psychic monstrosity taking a nap?
4) Is the psychic monstrosity a pokemon?
4/23/2016 c16 1Joe Mudkat
Wait, how did the bandits survive?
*X-Files music plays while Anankos stares out of a small corner*
Shut up, Anankos, you're dead.
Orange hates killing, which isn't surprising.
Then: Benjen shows some traces of insanity. One of the few places where the story takes a dark turn.
And ninja technology. Pretty advanced, it seems. That part also shows some more of the Boss' power.
And then an even darker part of the story-Kaz's biography is finished. Wow. And it looks like Mithril will join the good guys-for now.
And lastly, the Boss seems to be afraid of a Ninetails.
What is it, Kurama's daughter that turned evil? Or something like that?
Well, some more character development, some back stories...a good chapter.
