There used to be Vikings when I was still a young man. Vikings who were patiently catching fish in the sea on their longships. Vikings chattering and laughing wholeheartedly about life. Vikings that had made technology more advanced than their current era. But like the dragons, one-by-one the Vikings disappeared from existence altogether. Some say that modern humanity came and wiped them all out to finish the job of "creating a humans-only paradise", free of God's past mistakes. Others say they ascended to Asgard to live with Odin and the other Norse deities in peace. Perhaps we may never know. But I can assure you, they were the most loyal, brave, loving, and selfless people to have ever lived in our world. Just like dragons, the world didn't deserve Vikings. Not yet at least. My endeavors to the Barbaric Archipelago have not only changed my understanding of Vikings, it also helped me become a much more better man to the world. I will never forget about the man who helped me turn my life around just as a dragon did before to him. And I hope one day, the worlds of past and future can find balance in each other, just like we're finding ways to coexist with mother nature. Someday soon.
