Great update. I love how Steph is growing and maturing. I think it's great that she's agreed to guardianship. Keep up the awesome story line.

I'm glad Steph told Ranger how she felt about everything. I see a spark of hope that she is softening a little towards him. Great story!

What an incredibly moving email this was from Stephanie to Ranger.
I didn't even think about Stephanie's very young age to essentially become someone's (though a very cute little someone) mother.
I had a working mother ever since the age of three (my parents met at work and when my dad originally asked my mom to marry him, she asked him "You know I'm not a housewife, right?" before she said yes, so my dad basically always knew his wife was going to do paid work outside the house), so women have made it work, working at paid jobs outside their homes and raising their kids reasonably well, for yonks.

Wonderful chapter. She laid it out.

Thanks for the update. I know it has to be hard for Steph to have Julie and know that Ranger has to be included in her life no matter what. As far as your comments about Steph giving up her live I do think you can find a way for her to have both and just not be a sniper. Julie has more family then just Ranger. So looking forward to Ranger coming home and reading the emails. Waiting for more updates on both stories. Thanks for writing. Marsha

Glad that Steph welcomes the legal guardianship of Julie. And that she realizes how much Carlos would like to see his baby, after he gets back. She has opened herself up to a close relationship with him, way beyond email pals. This does NOT mean that Steph has tossed out the possibility of going on missions herself, although it may have shown her that she can no longer emotionally afford the aftermath of the killing missions when she has to be there for Julie. The Alphabets, along with the Military, may have to coordinate her missions with those they want Carlos to go on, so that the little one has one of them with her at all times. Not ideal, but might be workable. IF THAT's WHAT SHE WANTS!

Please don't let Julie be kidnapped or harmed in any way. The Blame Game of whose fault it was, who was on duty, etc. would absolutely CRUSH the tenuous threads of Carlos & Steph's renewed relationship. That would be THE END of the story, in a bad, bad way. IMHO. Thanks for this email, Lisa! You're really riling up the troops out here! -Kathy

I know I am one who commented on the apparent waste of Steph's training - though honestly I am almost thinking of it from the Alphabet Agency's viewpoint of "Dammit, we just wasted 5 years training this dumb broad who is throwing it away for some guy's brat she isn't even involved with, and it isn't even *hers*." Though that does open up a plot bunny - possible revengeful activity on the part of the handler ... kidnap/kill/dispose of Julie in a manner that keeps Steph 'free' to do contracts for them. And I do remember way back at the beginning the mention of Steph and her reluctance to kill - she was going into the field in potentially dangerous situations just fine without killing [except for that Spanish job] though again, I am potentially worried about the idea of Steph and Julie and Steph getting seriously involved with a daddy figure while in custodial guardianship of Julie, and Julie coming to see him as Daddy ... and any issue Ranger might have with the situation.

Re this chapter, good opening salvo in a friendship move, being willing to take care of Julie and bring her back to Georgia to visit Ranger is good, it brings her into close contact with a decreased possibility of argument [if they were to remain in Miami, Rachel might try to get Ranger to knock her up again, or pass off some other guys kid as Rangers, causing serious conflict between Ranger and Steph.]

Can't wait to see one from Ranger next )

That was great. Hoping that Ranger gets home safely and soon.

Yay! for Julie's now being able to sit up and being able to bite people she dislikes, with her one little tooth.

Thanks for the update, good chapter. Can't wait to see a answer from Carlos. Hope it isn't to far off. He has to see how attached Steph is to Julie. I think that there will be something happening that she will watch her more often even though her grandmother is home now. Looking for more chapters for both stories soon. Thanks for writing, Marsha

Steph is finally acknowledging that she and Carlos (and Abuela) are in this child-rearing thing together. And although she admits it's a scary ride, she love Julie and that's that! Bringing up Les at the end solidifies all of them as a family.

And her marking and informing Carlos of Julie's milestones and health issues, as well as her assurances that she has done her child care homework to keep her safe, is PROBABLY NOT because she still loves Carlos. PROBABLY NOT. RIGHT. YEAH...

Thanks, Lisa! -Kathy

Love it. Love that she thought to keep him informed.
