Enjoying the story so far, as for your trivia
I'm guessing he learned from Momo Hinamori and squad 4 member who helped him rescue Rukia in the beginning of the anime (I can't remember his name)

Well, he agreed faster then I thought he would. Although I have to ask is Ichigo going to find out about his mother and learn some quincy techniques? Because the reverse can be said about Ichigo when it comes to fighting. He has nothing to deal with ranged opponents with but a getsuga, and even that is rather slow at times. And what I mean by that is a healthy mix of the two. All I normally see is people having him supplement his shinigami powers with the quincy ones. Like using hirenkyaku mixed with shunpo to move a little faster, a little reishi manipulation, blut vene, and some blut arterie. As for who could be training him in kido I would have to say either Momo, Unohana, or fem. Byakuya. I would bet money on Momo, but as for the second if I had to pick ... fem. Byakuya.

Nice, although how does Ichigo feel about Soul Society at this point? I mean his friends on that side have left him alone for two years, without any contact at all. What was stopping them from just saying high or sending a letter? I could understand leaving him out of the supernatural loop, but that doesn't mean they should have completely abandoned him. They could have visited him and not mention hollows or anything at all.

I actually really like the idea, in fact, I agree with you 100% and will in fact be doing something similar for my own story.
I do think the chapter is a bit short though...
