This really echoed for me, especially the ending "Sometimes you hear the bullet".
This is just amazing writing, and one of the best MASH fics I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

This is a really original idea, and well-written, apart from some typos. I hope you continue, but if you leave it as-is, that last line is a major punch in the gut (sometimes it's cool to leave an ending ambiguous). Interesting and good story!
