Maya is the worst. While Lucas and Riley are both worried about Maya on the Rucas side, all Maya does on the Lucaya side is rub it in that she was chosen, not Riley. I love that Riley is allowing herself to branch out and not being defined by her former "friends" anymore.

Beautiful chapter Courtney! The lucaya side was heartbreaking and the insecurities on the Rucas side were very well written. You are doing both ships justice and can't wait for the rest.

The way Maya was acting in the first part makes me mad. I know she doesn't like how things are but Riley needs change to get past everything. If changing her hair and clothes helps her find herself, then more lower to her! If she wants them to stay friends, she should try and keep herself in check and not treat like an enemy
I like how Riley understands that just because Lucas didn't pick Maya, doesn't mean any feelings for care he had for her went away. I think she's being really mature about the whole thing

In both worlds Lucas's feelings for Maya are definite to real and in his head, but it just seems he has so much more feelings for Riley. I didn't like that he thinks about Maya at night in the Riley part, but it's inky fair since in the Maya part he only thinks of Riley and her letter. I loved her second letter btw! The angst is still my favorite part and when he saw her his reaction was very telling. I'm nervous for he and Maya to be partners in science. I don't want him falling her for her in the Riley chapter, or any chapter! Haha awesome update!

Is it weird that I prefer the Maya and Lucas version of this story. Not because I like them together, but because I love angst and I love that Riley took the opportunity to grow as a person over the summer.

the two povs are so beautifully sad. I am not a maya stan whatsoever so it is really hard to read her and lucas having some sort of relationship even if it's just physical and to see how she acted when she first saw riley. that is not friendship, no matter how jealous you are, you don't treat your best friend like that, even if you don't wanted to and can't help yourself. she deliberately hurt riley because she can't handle the truth that it isn't her lucas loves. she might've been his choice, but lucas is already starting to see she isn't the one for him. on the other hand, I want the other maya to be happy even if seeing rucas together hurts her now she will find peace with it. I want her to grow apart the group for a while and find heself, he true self, but it's going to be hard with lucas as her lab partner. I love this so much, please continue it soon.

Alright this fic is tearing my soul to little pieces.
Okay, on the Lucaya side...totally saw them making out the whole summer. The fire is going to ended up burning them and is not going to be pretty. Also, what's going on with Maya? First thinking that Riley needs to find that "passion" with someone to finally see how Lucas and her are prefect for each other or something. And then she getting all jelly. Yikes. Wish Lucas figured himself. Wish I could tell him "You made your choice dude, there is no going back". Although the Rucas side of me can't help but love how he still thinks of Riley, although in a way he deserves to be going through that. Sorry not sorry.
On the Rucas side, love how they gave each other the strength they needed to know they were going to be okay on HS. Also knew they were going to watch Cuddle Bunnies lmao. They also made this so angsty with their insecurities, but love how for now at least, everything worked out. Can't wait to see what happens with them later on.
Also I loved how in the Lucaya side Lucas is trying to learn to love Maya. He is just trying to get there with her. While Maya still doesn't understand what to make of him. This fic is killing me in the best way possible. I think it's probably the closest to canon interpretation of what would happen on both sides if Lucas really were forced to choose (going on the assumption that everyone's feelings are genuine). You've been incredibly honest and accurate with both sides and I'm really enjoying it!

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS FIC!
Alright, the first side is so depressing and bittersweet, but I love it just the same. Sooo interested to see how Riley changes over the summer, and what happens with Lucas and Maya's relationship. Knowing them, they might spend the whole summer making out. -_-
The second side, I loved the Markle scene! So beautiful to read about Farkle being there for her through all of this, and how open she is with him. Love it. Can't wait to see what happens with Lucas and Riley here. Knowing them, they might spend the whole summer watching Cuddle Bunnies -_- ;)
