I cannot wait to read Jenna's POV Down Down in Goblin TownAnd man, that outburst hit me like a punch in the gut, even if I was expecting Thorin to have words for both Jenna and Bilbo. Again, great job with Jenna's emotions, I really felt her pain during that.

A massive Thorin POV! Yes please!
I think on a previous review I mentioned that I could not possibly pick my favorites as the entire chapter was my favorite and to just copy and paste an entire chapter into the review box was impractical. I feel that exact same way about this chapter. The ENTIRE chapter is my favorite but to not comment on this behemoth seems disrespectful so…
That first line. lolololol
These lines: ‘The more sensible part of Thorin’s brain asked why he was even paying attention enough to this woman’s figure to notice these things. The less sensible part said she was nice to look at either way.’
His thoughts while holding her hand and asking her if she had a husband are hysterical.
This line: ‘The first being that he didn’t mind getting tossed down a hill if it meant Jenna would put her hand on his beard more often.’ I could not stop laughing at his recall of the entire bath scene and aftermath.
I had totally forgotten about what Galadriel had shown him! How?
Wait! Have we not only gotten a past Thorin POV but a present one as well? Whaaaat?
I panicked right along with Jenna during The Conversation. Those lines were NOT mean to happen at that location. I just KNEW that the timeline was blown to smithereens and that Bilbo would be leaving then. Right then. When he walked back around the rock I knew he was gone. Panicked. And Thorin… he was brutal. Fear does crazy things to people.
Oh, I cannot wait to see how you continue to change things yet still keep to the overall outline of the story!
This chapter is just filled with sooo much! Longing and trust and fluff and hilarity and confusion and hurt and drama and angst and trauma and… I… it’s just soooo good! Everything.
Favorites: Thorin’s mental wandering; Dís; that he can be Thorin; walking into the forest; fetching portrait; the sound of her dropping her boots; couldn’t worry about propriety just then; Dwalin & Balin’s knowing eyes; accidental murders & unimpressed stares & similarly sized rocks; Gloin being a born sprinter (Love that!); smug Dwalin; not having to get tossed down a hill to get his beard touched again (Seriously, you’re killing me. lol); The King wanted.; Bofur’s tiptoeing; Thorin’s track record for mythical beings was questionable; Balin has had enough; Bilbo holding three bowls suddenly; Jenna sending a warg running with its tail tucked; Dori & Nori’s bickering and 'She knew.'
(Thank you for the shout out! My daughter couldn’t stop laughing in shock and repeating, “She’s so nice!”)

Another update! I’m giddy and thankful… but mostly giddy!
I cringed at the first line. I pleaded right along with the Company. Then I cringed when I agreed with Nori… again.
All the trauma she has faced so far (and will face in the future) and has not really been able to deal with (Rivendell and nightmares aside)… I worry for her when it’s all over and she’s finally somewhere safe and can begin healing. To say PTSD is nightmarish is an understatement.
Jenna’s bathroom break: My daughter hunkered down and started mumbling, “No. Nononono. No Jenna! No!” She knew. She just knew. And it’s not funny but I would LOVE to have seen Balin’s reaction to Jenna’s alternate path. Honestly. But the remembered trauma for both of them, heartbreaking. And the look that Thorin & Balin shared, geez.
I love how she just KNOWS how to take care of him.
Their conversations, just all of them. So good. Bring on the angst and drama!

I really like it, when ther is a thorin chapter in between now and again its fun to see his side of the events. Well thorin did notice he fucked up. i so hope the golblins and so on won't course to much of a rift between the two.

I absolutely love the way you write Thorin's POV! I was wondering when Galadriel's visions were going to come back into play, and you did that beautifully! The mutual pinning is *French Kiss!* Also, did the Oakenshield-approved cardio put the group ahead of schedule? I can't wait to see where Jenna ends up - with the group fighting goblins, with Bilbo, or a mysterious third option by herself?

What a ride! Omg. And it was such a long chapter, I was giddy looking at the scrollbar seeing how much was left as I read lol
It's so interesting getting Thorin's perspective. Mutual pining is official and I'm stoked for it! I can't even convey how much it squeezes my heart to get double the yearning and longing. To see how he slowly transitioned into thinking of Jenna by her first name was so GOOD! But also when he reconciled the idea of himself just being Thorin and not a king first.
Y'know I forgot about the meeting with Galadriel XD But it's cool that he's got his own visions of the future to grapple with alongside Jenna's predictions. That whole scene where he has deja vu was cinematic! The sun coming through the leaves, holding Jenna and the focus on their touch to keep him anchored to reality! Amazing! And all of those moments where Thorin wants to be proper but is just so touchstarved he wants to hold her hand long or let her touch his face ect- beautiful! Omg. Grade A yearning!
Thorin's wavering on whether or not he can believe Jenna's crazy shit is so realistic. It makes sense that he'd have trouble holding onto his belief (not in her exactly but a little) when the storybookness of it all keeps mounting into some insane events. I also loved Balin's take, that he can't pick and choose if he believes her. But its such a great internal conflict. Because he's been betrayed before and didn't see it coming, and he doesn't want to think Jenna would but experience tells him differently. It's so significant that he keeps trusting her despite all that!
I love how Jenna's been handling it too, sure crying in private but also convicted enough to be ANGRY. Because in a way he betrayed HER. And then kinda told her confidential information... I'm glad that they began the rekindling of their bond BEFORE Thorin had any proof. That's such a great touch and gives more weight to his "apology".
Jenna's panic was palpable. Me too, girl. Just waiting for goblins to snatch them up would be terrifying but on top of the Stone Giants not showing up on cue- crazy. Just knowing that Something changed and not knowing why or how and what else also changed via butterfly effect. Imagine if the goblins DIDNT snatch them up! Goodbye Middle Earth, ye all doomed. Imagine HOPING to be snatched up by goblins! God, I can't imagine the fear she was feeling.
And now I'm getting all meta, thinking "IS there a reason the giants came later? DID anything else change? Did SHE do something to cause it or was there another cause? IS this the Valar interfering? Is this the AUTHOR AKA YOU changing the plot? ARE YOU ACTING AS THE VALAR OR ARE THE VALAR ACTING THROUGH YOU VIA THE NARRITIVE?" XD Am I thinking too much about this? MAYBE. But maybe not!? Idk if you have the answers but you must tell me!
Ahem. In conclusion, this was awesome and I'm looking forward to next chapter. Those goblins are gonna be DANK lol
