Hi ther I like the story. Personally i find it really well paced in terms of relationship development. But man Thorin get your Head out of your as and think more. Just saying with Jenna it's always the same when it comes to this stuff.
She never lied and he still is blind... I will so laugh when the get to the stone giants, if he is still in denial. It will be like oh shit she said it. and then he will feel guilty and probably apologizethen it will get to the goblins and he will be angry again) yeesh his emotions are worse than a rollercoaster.
I can't wait for the next chapter especially if its a Thorin chapter after thies relationship developments.

Tears were shed in the reading of this. Tears of different emotions.
I loved the ebb and flow of the argument and how it evolved. Both sides are justified in their emotions but its still sad and frustrating to watch play out- in the best way- I love the drama of it all LOL I appreciate how Jenna composed herself and knew when to poke at Thorin and when it wouldn't do any good. But she was still upset and hurt by his lack of trust. Like YES what she's saying is uncomfortably bad but why would she say it if it weren't true? Thorin's going through the stages of grief on a loop.
Tripping and falling on Thorin was such a move omg. I couldn't function when I realized what happened lol I had to hide behind my hands LMAO But then how you described the position they were in, like yes, objectively hot had the circumstance been anything but what it was, but it was beautiful, the way Thorin's hair curtained around them and the firelight peeking through... But both of them dealing with trauma and understanding the others' was sad but sweet. The whole scene where she followed him was so good! How Thorin didn't send her away and that was enough for Jenna to realize that was his way of wanting support. And how she just sat in front of him! So fucking perfect. I loved the vulnerability and compassion they shared.
Aaaand it doesn't last. Naturally. I really like this aspect of Thorin's personality, he feels real. Like he accepted Azog's alive but not that he can't control the situation. He has to knowingly walk into a trap and trust that they all make it out alive. And he's got his nephews into this... That's gotta be terrifying.
And of course he didn't believe Jenna's confession... It IS from a children's book, after all lol But I loved how after a bit, Thorin came up to her expectedly and Jenna just popped her hip like ,"Go on, babe, you first." XD They just stalemated each other. It's a waiting game again, and Thorin's gonna shit once it start's raining lmao Insert that gif of the lady saying, "Honey, you got a big storm coming..." :]

I just cannot love Bofur enough! The amount of care and concern he has for Jenna must be so foreign to her. I’m so glad she ran into him and his brothers right at the beginning.
Ugh, the conversation about Azog… so yucky for them.

When I saw your update I just started laughing manically. When I told my daughter you had updated… really wish I had filmed her reaction. .Amazing. Many many “welcome backs”!
It’s wonderful to see Jenna slowly change her opinion about herself. Change of location, people who actually care about her, exercise… it’s amazing how that’ll help a person’s mindset.
The talk. The fireflies. Golly she’s so good for him. The scene is just perfect! Sooo perfect!
Her potato heart sprouted & grew a leaf?!
I was just as confused as Jenna when Fili & Kili pointed out her previous fear of Thorin. I was like, “What are they talking abo… oh yeah. That’s right. Huh.” lol I suppose she’s still terrified of him, just a different kind of fear now.
This: “For a wild moment in my life, I could just see a young woman with hopes and dreams, with kind eyes and a soft, round face. Not a coward, not a failure, not a fat anxious wreck waiting for the next trial of will. Just a woman.”
The bath scene. All of it. (Seriously warg, you had one job.)
This line: “There was not an ounce of me that was calm.”, until the end of the chapter.

Awww, poor Thorin! First off, I want to say that I love how detailed you’ve made his trauma and his reactions to Jenna’s outlandish claims. I love that he’s expectant and waiting for her to come back to him. Especially after the heartfelt way she knelt before him and held his hands. That was…. that was beautiful. It’s so obvious that he wants her to come back and he enjoys speaking to her so he keeps looking up at her throughout the day, expectant that she’ll finally cave and come over. So after a while, when she doesn’t do what he expects, HE comes over to HER and blocks her path. I. LOVE. THAT. You say so much with actions, rather than words (I know I say that a lot…but it’s such a remarkable aspect of your story that I cant say it enough). I was a little upset that I didnt get the Goblin tunnels that I’ve been waiting years for…but the emotional drama between these two? I could eat that up with a spoon for days. I need moooooooooore! I’m an addict.

I hope she isn’t hurt during the goblin caves…. Maybe she stays with Gandalf in Rivendell and misses that part…and then when the events start happening ( like the stone giant fight) Thorin will realize she was telling the truth

So after the previous chapter was published, I decided to re-read this entire work, and once I had, the next chapter was up? What happy alternate reality have I fallen into?
In all seriousness, this is still one of (if not THE) best fanfictions I have ever read, and I am so glad you found the energy, time, and inspiration to keep going. The humor and real emotions in this hits in a way I cant really begin to describe.
For this chapter - I was so excited to see the reaction to that particular news flash - and I wonder if Jenna will ever tell Thorin exactly why they had to go through the misty mountains, and how that will go over.
