thank you for this gem of a oneshot, i absolutely love the dm/femhp pairing and there are so few works of this pairing, let alone amazing ones. i really hope you update your other pieces (and maybe add a james/ursa fanfic too?), though i do understand that you've got a life outside of fanfic writing - but it'll be a pity if they remain uncompleted. 3

Good story, I loved the mature romance. Although, the end left me thinking about "Thinking Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman and how the brain makes a story out of our subjective experiences to give us a sense of order and coherence within our lives. Anyway, I really loved the chemistry and personality of both Draco and Hyacinth.

So I'm finally reading what I said I'd read. :P
When she called him Draco, I was thinking, "That's an invitation for you to call her Harriet! Does she have to give you permission or something?!"
And then I thought the blue-haired teenager at the Leaky Cauldron was Teddy, but then I realized he wouldn't be a teenager in 2004. Wouldn't that be funny? Teddy supervising their dates as an angst-y teen?
The Dean dating Padma thing after dating Parvati, was that inspired by the fact that Angelina was Fred's date to the Yule Ball but ended up marrying George? Did you ever hear the fan theory about that?
The eye mask scene was sweet. But I can't see Draco knowing how to cook. I think he'd mess up a sandwich. ;)
Ginny going on a date with Daphne made me smile. I guess you ship them now...?
You should write a side story of the "ruddy good" slap. :) I'd like to see it.
And with the Ferris Wheel scene, I'd like to see Narcissa and Andromeda's point of view too.
I like that he broke the tradition of waiting until proposing to say he loved her! In my opinion, it showed she was more important to him than traditions like that.
Am I mistaken (its 3 am) or did you not reveal her name as Hyacinth until the end? I started off calling her Harriet in the beginning of the review, so maybe not. Since I'm an uncultured Weasley, I had to look up how to pronounce Hyacinth. :P I've never heard the name before. Did you or were you looking up flower names and found it?

First of all, I’m so sorry this review took me ages to get through. I actually just signed into my account tonight to post something and I saw your message about this story. Which brings me to my review :D
I just LOVE the feel of this story. I don’t know what it is exactly, but something about this story just feels so beautiful. While I was reading it, I wasn’t sure exactly what I was feeling – happy, sad, wistful, maybe all three? I suppose it’s just the way it had such a ‘real’ feel to it, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I love the slow, gradual progression you did with Hyacinth and Draco’s relationship. Like I said, the way you write their relationship makes it so very real and genuine (something you seem to have an amazing talent for :D). I actually felt how they began to fall slowly in love with each other.
Can’t say I enjoyed reading about how their previous spouses treated them though. On one hand, I’m happy they broke up but on the other, I want to maim them for being such assholes. Haha. I especially love your ending. It wasn’t too sappy or overly dramatic, but it felt right for them, especially given their relationship.
