Will unfortunately stop at the beginning of this chapter because the author's hate for SAO except for Aincrad itself it too offputting.
One, plenty of guys date girls who should be "out of their class" and Asuna is. But he had the advantage of saving her and growing in the game together. Sure, they split at floor 25, but its not like they become enemies.
As for creepy behavior, *what* creepy behavior? Have you taken a look at the kid? He didn't know you could turn completely turn off the morality code to have sex until like floor 70 because it just never crossed his mind. He's stupid in a cute kind of way, and with how dedicated he is to Asuna, it makes a lot of sense that Asuna liked him back.
You've clearly read the Progressive novels and the Aincrad arc of the LN so I'm not really sure why you're making his character out to be some kind of creeper harem protagonist.
Fwiw I'm a girl too, and most of my friends who are interested in anime have a negative impression of SAO until I get to actually read the novels and they generally agree that Kirito is a dumb goober who got lucky with Asuna, but they're still a cute couple.

Well, currently on Chapter 15, and I have to say the author's open disdain for the original work is a bit offputting? SAO when you get down to it is a surprisingly mature work that I think gets better as you grow up. When I was a kid, I pretty much thought SAO was just a cool VR world that had stakes, but now, looking back and rewatching and rereading, it's very well done. Partially tarnished by odd adaptation choices in the anime, but the source material is great.
I mean, look at him. Scrawny 14 year old boy, a bit nerdy who took after his adopted mom in their shared interest in computers. Socially distanced because he's adopted. A hobby forced upon him that he soon abandoned, but one he still feels the effects of. A shut-in introvert. Perfectly ordinary boy that gets transformed over the course of the story. He had to learn how to talk to people, he had to learn to not be selfish, and more importantly, he was lucky to actually make it to the end. SAO could've very well ended in Aincrad when he makes a misstep and dies.
He might not be the most interest person to look at, but looking at the theme of the story as a whole, about the exploration of the effects of VR technology, and how virtual reality can change people, I think he is an excellent protagonist choice because who he is before the game is actually relevant.
While making Kirito a girl, and then making her to be a super genius who's a borderline sociopath is a choice to make her a lot more interesting to look at, I think it kind of misses the point of the light novels. It also makes Keiko way more of a sue/stu than Kirito himself, if not for the various trauma she has.

I will be (forever?) curious to know when they finally officially pull Argo into their relationship properly.

Love the not-so-lowkey diss at the OG Kirito for being an introvert at the beginning when it wasnt really necessary

I love the multiple angles of the real world so much here. The PR team having to deal with a borderline sociopath is honestly my favorite part, and our Evil Overlord is so close behind, especially that scene with the chocolate bars. I'm curious if you have any plans to dabble more with the SAO Abridged stuff, which is honestly my main exposure to this whole anime. Also, will Heathcliff need to create the Blood Knights? It doesn't seem like it, but I would be very curious to see how all that drama goes down. Finally, I doubt you've forgotten it, but what special skill has Kirito been given by Kaguya? And is she aware of it?

God he an idiot, Sugou won't be able to pull the same shit he did in canon here. Keiko and soon Asuna are simply to high profile to the world after all this that if he kept them in the game like he does Asuna in canon the whole world would be asking questions and demanding answers.
Basically, his company as the one to hold the servers would have teams of people investigating them and going though the servers. He would be totally fucked.
So, i expect that when they clear it Keiko and Asuna will be waking up with everyone else, assuming he isn't a complete moron and has at least one working brain cell.
