What the fuck.

I would invite the reader to realize that, if genders were switched, this would be less appealing, that if gems took mature and masculine forms and Steven were a little girl going through puberty, I am sure some of us would grimace at the idea of this fic rather than read through and through this jungle of erotica. "But gems are innately genderless!" Still doesn't discount the fact that Steven is being taken advantage upon by sexually active beings in his sleep and in his waking hours, and for what? To soothe depravity, to tingle our senses? We've been brought to the extreme, of where this fandom's libido manifests, of a place where a child's puberty-driven sexual urges passes for consent, and though this is but one of the many sick contortions of Steven Universe, it remains faithful to having at least one fucked up feature, and that would be, undoubtedly, child molestation.

Of course, none of us would advocate pedophilia nor would we allow ourselves to enjoy genuine child erotica if this were put out of the context of Steven Universe (hopefully these statements presume correctly). And on this note, I'd benefit the reader to ask himself: Should something operate in the context of a fandom and its sub-culture for us to justify writing about a kid, who doesn't know any better, being round-and-round fucked by all sorts of people older than him? Have we resigned into some inane justification to consume, imagine, and even encourage erotica of the sort, and are we really letting ourselves, as sane humans, let this slide by branding it a harem or a smut fic and calling it a day?

Or perhaps it is not Steven that's being molested. Maybe this fic has become a gateway for us, the reader, to experience the bodies of Pearl, Rose, Amethyst, and everyone else, and Steven, the child he is, is just our window to enjoying what the fic is really aiming for: sexual release. Are we willing to discard the fact that Steven is a kid so that we can watch gritty blowjob, bathroom fucking, dream fucking, and niplick scenes flavored with strawberry semen? The fic can be erotica all it wants, but in the way it becomes erotica, in what it uses for us to feel its physicality (which is a child), in what the fiction turns itself into, I would pit heavy questions for the people, especially of older ages, who'd encourage this sort of porn writing. It is not Steven that is the boy-in-puberty exploring his curiosities and urges; it appears to me that it is actually the reader who returns to this fic, the reader that the writer hopes to share this story with, because why publish if we assume nobody like-minded will enjoy it?

Adding to this, hormones isn't enough of a valid reason. The child, in the sexual shoves of the people he deems close, people who tug the strings of his puberty; associates sexual interaction for genuine love. We're witnessing a kid get manipulated for the pleasures and curiosities of different people, and I felt myself die a little with every line further into the madness of the story.

Heck, even Rose, the ultimate symbol of Love in the actual show, got tangled up into this as if this were true psychological commentary, and Greg, whose fatherly care was discarded for the purposes of the narrative, seems oblivious to what's being done to his son. If anything, this fic is a journey to the mentality of a child in the throes of a sexually manipulative household and circle of friends, where hormonal urges, again I mention, somehow passes for real consent and ironically, at the same time, serves as a tool to be sexually taken advantage of.

It is clear to me that, truly, this fic isn't interested in the connotations of using a child to explore its own kinky narrative. Instead, what it is truly geared towards is the release of the writer and the reader both guiltlessly operating in the context of the fandom, and in this, we've abandoned any serious implications of using Steven, an underage boy, as a porno-spotlight, and rushed ourselves into the narration to feel Pearl's breasts, Amethyst's lips, Garnet's butt, and Connie's tongue in all their (save for Connie) genderless and no-regrets sexuality.

Truly, what the fuck.
