What a beautiful, generous retelling of the classic! I'm quite familiar with the Brothers Grimm and similar anthologies, and I must say this would not look out of place among them. What sweet words! What achingly true love!

Truly, truly beautiful. There are some tales that stand Time's test exceptionally well and the Brothers Grimm is one of them. I haven't read the 'Godfather Death' story, but I'll be hunting for it now. Between all the characters in this short tale, I just love Death. Is it odd for me to say that? Hardworking and equal to all she encounters, but isn't afraid to protect what she cares for. For some reason, the last paragraph tied the story very nicely. No matter what misfortune may fall on her, Death is never to be pitied or looked down upon.
Anyway, I love this story and I hope to read more from you. Take care, Glitter and until next time, Au revoir.
