I love this chapter and while many readers love Anakin telling Obi-Wan off, at the end Obi-Wan has lost everyone that has ever mattered to him and hasn’t broken or turned. I’m surprised Obi-Wan doesn’t throw it back in Anakin’s face that the man he loved as a father and the only woman he truly loved are dead and he was thrust into taking care of someone he had no idea how to help and yet grew to love him and now that person hates him. Anakin still has people who love and care about him, what does Obi-Wan have? He sank further into viewing the world as black and white, because it’s the only thing that stops him from really going off the deep end.

ethereal girl: what a great and chapter with so many revelations. obi seems stuck in his black and white world, unable to compromise, while padme is the voice of hope and reason. mothma ist the opportunist and bail seems unsure of his intent. padmes point of view at the start impressively described the tense feelings of all involved. best part was for me that Anakin finally let obiwan know all that the Jedi did to him and how it felt for this small boy. wonder if Anakin later will reflect on what Kenobi tried to say to him? looking forward to obiwan point of view, if Vader diatribe leads to some reevaluating of his worldview. eagerly awaiting the next instalment, thank you, this is a great story

That was the most epic Jedi slam EVER! True, so true...all of it! I was enthralled at that confrontation! Bravo, Ani! This is a huge step in the right direction...for all of them. Even the entire galaxy! I can't wait for this mission to CD! Great stuff!

Damn, that was a scathing talking-to from Vader to the Jedi. You forgot to mention that Qui-Gon didn’t save Anakin due to any moral obligations or out of a sense of doing the right thing. He saved Anakin because he’d the boy was powerful in the Force and very likely the prophesied Chosen One. In fact, the guy blatantly tells Anakin that he’s not there to free slaves.

Loved all the political talk and the strategy for keeping Palpatine busy on two fronts that are actually one.
OMG, when Anakin finally lost it and let loose on Obi-wan was a powerful moment! It had to be done if they were ever going to be able to successfully complete any missions together. Obi-wan had to fully understand what had been going through Anakin's mind, especially about his mother.
"After we rescue Fulcrum, I want you to come home with me." He stopped walking, but didn't turn to her. Didn't move. "I want you to really...truly...meet your children."
He said nothing for a moment, then looked up at the ceiling of the cavern. In the distance, some kind of crystal creature slinked away, clinking as it did so. "As Vader?" he asked, his voice rough. "Or as their father?"
Padme didn't miss a beat. "As their father." I think this was my favorite part of the chapter!
