This is beautifully written. I love Parker's point of view, the sense that she is hoarding this treasure as well as her own unique way of seeing. And your descriptions of Eliot as he practices the moves that must be instinct rather than decision is just gorgeous. I also like the little hints of weakness as well as strength, of the price Eliot has paid for what he does. Love it!
