This story was wonderful!
I could feel the jabs in my heart at certain parts, and it definitely hit very close to home.
It was so realistic, in the way you depicted both Julius and Mira. How different people deal with grief and how they move on (or try to).
Even if you don't usually write things so serious and somber, you're very good at it!

Wow, this was really poignant. And cathartic.
I could feel every stab of emotion in this. How close and nasty and sad this situation is. How it changes people. I always pictured Mira's husband to be the sickly type but never in this way. I won't be thinking of it the same after this. It's a different kind of sick. And you handled it really well and with respect. You captured those very real feelings from all across the board.
If you're trying to make me love Julius more, congratulations - I'm totally gone at this point. This serious side to him was incredible; I loved this added depth to his character. These feelings of betrayal, of helplessness, of anger, of renewal. This whole process of grief. Honestly, I would read a whole fic about this, going further with these elements you've presented here. I'll definitely have to keep coming back to read this one again.
Seeing this side of your writing was awesome! I hope you consider heavy topics like this again in the future! The drama, the tragedy, moving forward - it was all there, and it was very strong in such a short space. Bravo!

Oh, this was very, very nice. I can completely understand why Julius would be angry with Tom for dying and making Mira so sad. And it makes me sad for Julius how he's kind of kicking himself after the fact-"I wish I'd done something for you, I wish I could have been there for you" are sentiments that everybody feels when someone dies. I really like how loyal Julius is to Mira and how he's apparently studied Dale and found him to be a suitable er, suitor, for his lady-employer.
You handled this story's melancholy very well without making it too depressing. You write very well despite this fic being out of your comfort zone.
Oh, also, the image of Julius in the cemetery under an overcast sky is just BEGGING for fanart!

You did an excellent job with this. Tom's anguish and pain was just really hurtful to see, as was the result of what he chose to do. But at the same time, it was wonderful that you showed Mira and Julius moving on.
As I said before too, I love how Julius's personality came through here too, but he's also thoughtful, and obviously very hurt by what happened and by seeing Mira so hurt. It gives him a lot of depth.
