Awesome so far! I mean... how many references can you slip in. Die Hard. Sneakers... (do I get a prize for catching that one?) Hell, even the crime setup has hints of that, just no temp/motion sensors.
Critique... some minor editing issues. A good proofread would catch most things. Otherwise well written.

Great to see you posting, honestly one of the best writers I’ve seen on this site. The character interactions have always been your strong suit and I can’t wait to see where you go with this story.

And it circles back in the end.
The trouble reviewing this fic, with its extra big chapters, is that I feel all the reviews I can muster fail to pay back in return for the amount of work put in. It doesn't help that, unlike certain other fics, there isn't much room for big speculation and such as to what the characters might do next.
The biggest suspects so far are obviously the agent and the mysterious hyena, the former of which says all the right things to be guilty but, I suspect, won't be of this... Unless you plan to ho for a columbo set up in which case the whole thing going forward will be trying to prove him on that...
Him using the hyena to smuggle the baby out, building sympathy until it's anonymously dropped somewhere else and returned?
Travis and his father had interesting interviews too, along with the au pair, though I'm not picking anything off of them yet. Seeing some of them interact: father son or ex husband and ex wife, would be interesting coming up.
And Nick's perception is solid, as is his denial about self destruction XD. Ooops, in the drink he goes, and I recognised Tarka and Lylla as names.
Hmmm... Lots still left open and yet to find. But many kudos on all the deep descriptions and dialogue that you gave us. Fantastic work!

Okay, this is just *uncanny*. Spent at least an hour, this morning, trying to decide what to read next. Eventually decided to give this story (another) re-read. Literally just paused in my reading to check my email and there's an update. I'd all but given up hope of seeing more of this wonderful story - the story that got me into Zootopia in the first place. A story I actually read before seeing the film.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me to find another chapter - this remains, after nearly three years of reading Zootopia fan fictions, such a special story. Characterisation is spot on, the plot superb and that whole 'Nick solves the murder in three minutes whilst searching for the Wi-fi password' scene has to be the best scene in the fandom.
So, thank you, again. Thank you for continuing to write this. Thank you for writing it, in the first place, and introducing me to something wonderful.
