Definitely impressed with the characterization in this story - it isn't as one-sided and flat as characterization in HP fics - and fics in general - can sometimes be. There's a good balance of recognizable traits from the original books and tweaks that take the characters beyond their originals. As we've seen with Harry and Hermione especially, the characters have a certain mystery to them, with hints at more complex - and darker - pasts and experiences than the original characters, which is particularly promising for later installments. I'm definitely excited to see more of the darker themes and more mature subjects that this story's characters and its atmosphere allow for: an interesting, absorbing spin.

I really am so intrigued by the world you're setting up in this story. Arcturus and Harry's relationship might be one of my favorite aspects of the story so far, which is never something I thought I'd say. (I didn't think I'd be commenting on a relationship between Arcturus and Harry at all to be honest.)

Also, I'm usually hesitant when people characterize a character differently in canon just because so much of the time they come across as more of a cliche than anything, but I really like your characterization of Harry. I like the way that the changes between his character in canon and his character in this fic makes sense based on his different life experiences.

I'm really interested in seeing what happens later on in the story.
