I really enjoyed both Proud and this. I found it a nice and different spin on the situation. I however do find it a bit unrealistic from Castle's response perspective but that was what you had to work with and you handled it marvelously. I especially like how you handled Kate's initial reaction to being called out (nicely but still called out) on the lie, her response after going home was classic Kate Beckett. Her wanting to deal with it in private also classic Kate Beckett. Rick's praise probably gave her the support that she needed to go ahead and admit her love for him, his running off in the series just set them back rather than leaving the status quo or moving forward like these two stories. Of course since TPTB's story line did not have together until the end of the season, it fit more into their story perspective to have Rick charge off, pissed off as that set them back months in their growing relationship.

Great follow-up. I can see Kate going several ways after RGB's great setup, and this is a good one. I think it's in character for her. Congratulations.
