His imprisonment feels forced at best. 3v1 against city guards and he surrenders with Serana right around the corner ready to aid him.

Uhtred: PULL THE LEVER AELA! (Wrong lever end up getting pulled and a whole pile of dead dead draugr fall on top of him) (Weakly) other lever…..

(If you got the reference good on you!)

Everything I’ve read to me suggests that Tiber Septim wasn’t a Nord, but he certainly wasn’t an Imperial either. And of course he wasn’t a Mer or one of the Beast Folk so that just leaves Breton and Redguard and considering one of the places he was said to have been born is a city called Alcaire which is located in High Rock which is the home of the Bretons….

You can piece together everything after that.

There’s a reason why the symbols on the claws are the correct combination. The door are to keep the Draugr in, not intruders out.

I just finished chapter 22 and so far, the story is great. Love everything about it so far with great characterization, growth, utilizing the world of Nirn in a more realistic scale and more. It's nice that Uhtred isn't just an overpowered Dragonborn and instead has skills he has practiced and worked on. My only gripe so far is the lack of anything occuring during the absorption of a dragon soul. It's not that I want Uthred to gain more power from dragon souls as that would ruin the story's pacing and tension (just cause it's lore accurate doesn't mean it'd be good story material). I feel like dragon souls should've done something more like imparting Uthred with all the knowledge of the dragon (this is in lore), or if that's too powerful a portion of its knowledge that relates to Uhtred and the events that occur in the story. Other than that, great read so far

In my fanfiction timeline before the final battle between the Empire and the Stormcloaks, I ask him him if I would be allowed his to spread his ashes after I burn him on a pyre at the Throat Of The World that way the winds can carry him all across his homeland.

But IS the Champion/Hero Of Kvatch truly dead? Or have they undergone the mantling process and become one with Sheogorath?

I once read a list on the internet of the most useless perks in Skyrim. The author argued that the Runemaster perk is one of those, because Runes in general are useless. I just sat there with an open mouth and couldn't believe it.

I mean a rune is a proximity mine, you install it somewhere and if by chance someone comes close it explodes. If you use it that way, then yes, they're useless.

But this dungeon, this last burial chamber is one of the two best places to make use of the amazing power of runes. I never have my heroine go into Dustman's Cairn without knowledge of Fire Runes and enough Magicka to cast them a couple times.

You can explode the draugr out of their sarcophagi one by one by not touching that Wuuthrad fragment and just killing off the draugr first. A rune close to a sarcophagus on the far side of the next one, and the explosion kicks the (and only this one) draugr out. If it's the weakest version they just slump out, finally dead. The others are injured and on fire which they're particularly susceptible against anyway. With Farkas (or Aela, if you restore existing but blocked data) at your side it's child's play to kill them. It's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel if the barrel is small and the fish enter one by one. If necessary you can potion up and heal after every single one.

If all fifteen to twenty draugr are dead, then you can take the axe fragment without danger at all.

Btw, the other dungeon MADE for runes, and this time you need the Runemaster perk, is Shroud Hearth Barrow. You can kill almost all enemies from the entrance door of the final burial chamber without even one step in with runes against their sarcophagi. The trigger, AFAIK, is walking further into the room.

This is the first fanfiction I've ever read and I'm hooked! Even though the story is just beginning, I adore how well-written this chapter is. I appreciate that it stays true to the lore in both the Skyrim and Oblivion games. I also think that our narrator's diction reads like how a character in-game would actually speak, which contributed to my immersion. Though I'm familiar with how events will play out in the world of Skyrim, the end still has me curious about how Uhtred's story will unravel! On to the next chapter :DD
