Hi! I'm here! I finally had the chance to read this!
That poor girl. Not only is she suffering, but then her supposed finance shows up with anther woman, insists she sin't sick and then leaves her after she pukes all over him. You'd think she'd figure out he's not exactly a prince charming by now.
I think Smith's words of "Bloody hell" pretty much sum up Rofle's whole appearance...
Speaking of Rolfe and Patricia... I ship it.
Great chapter! Can't wait to see what comes next!

Oh, how awful. Vomiting is *the worst,* but that's to be expected probably after this.
...I think Rolfe and Patricia are going to end up together. I support this notion.

...Maybe John is upset that Pocahontas rebuffed him and wants to get in a little dig at her...he could have this motivation, as well the one not to sully anyone's good name/get tongues to wagging, in downplaying their relationship in front of Ansgar...

I just picked up on the fact that Pocahontas has an insecurity about John Smith-speculation that he has a mistress.
She is too smart to think that he could possibly have only pined for her all these years-what is it in the sequel, five?-a good looking, smart, ambitious, independent man such as himself would have surely had plenty of female attention.
An aside, I'm wondering if John Rolfe and Patricia Winters have a history, or at least their families know each another.

AAAAAH you updated AND I LOVE LOOOOOVE IT!
I did NOT EXPECT that Type of Tea! But it really works as a plot device to get her to spill her heart's true feeeeelings!
Oh, John, John, JOHN: Yes, you needed to be taken down a notch by Ansgar and totally put in your place by Pocahontas-delirium aside-who outranks you socially, by the by. That hurts that he downplayed the true nature of their relationship in front of Angsar! It obviously hurt Pocahontas.
However, maybe he didn't want to cause a social scandal by implying to someone-who he knew-that Pocahontas, who is engaged to a pretty high-level diplomat, had had a romantic relationship with him, because, it might allow people to think it was more of a ...type of relationship... rather than romantic relationship.
So, that being said, I can understand why John might want to downplay their relationship-doesn't want to sully anybody's good names.
So, what's going to happen next? Will Rolfe find them?
Ugh, to have to have minor surgery and ingest a mind-altering tea while wearing a heavy gown and a tight corset...poor Pocahontas! I'm at least glad Eva managed to get her shoes off.
John mentions he could not afford "a real physician": So, is Ansgar a barber-surgeon?
Keep it up, my friend. I am LOVING this.
