I read this once before, and suddenly found myself internally reciting the last verse by heart, so I simply had to go back and read it again. Lol! I really enjoy this poem. I'm not familiar with Once upon a time, so to me, this is about the cpt. Hook from the Peter Pan novel (but perhaps they are the same?). The one whose mortal enemy is a ticking crocodile, a metaphor for death. You made me really look forward to when I can read that story to my kids. Thanks ever so much for sharing! Arr!
