I honestly agree with your take on Ron, he is an ass who has always taken everything he has for granted. Dragging Harry around by the nose and stunting his growth as a person. I am just glad you had Harry finally show some balls and walk away from the idiot and start thinking of the people he hurt when he ran away.
Your take on how people can change when they actually care and put in effort is wonderful. The fact that I am not a big shipper of Hermione/Draco had me hesitant to read this but you did an excellent job showing how both grew from the relationship and are now stronger for it.
Canon pairing for Hermione makes me ill as I know Ron would never be the husband she deserves. He wasn't even a good friend and nothing in the books has led me to believe he could ever mature enough to treat her with the dignity she rightly deserves. At least Draco risked his own safety by not outing them at Malfoy Manor showing he was already questioning and willing to undermine Voldemort's orders. So that event being the catalysis of their future relationship is believable. The little hints to their relationship's growth was nice to read, makes me wish I could have been a fly on the wall during that first date.

Another very unusual "Harry story". You bring up points about Harry, Ron, Draco and the rest's relationships that I never thought of. Do want to read what happened to Ron and what he wrote in the letter. What woman or man (wouldn't that be something!) did he marry if he did...someone they went to school with? Did he have a son who was just as he had been? Love your unusual view of the characters and the lives can't you tell? Never cared for Ginny together with Harry. She seemed even more immature then he was and she just wanted him because of his fame and ability. Ron? Was always a loser in my mind..selfish and waaay too easy to anger and get abusive...''taker" not a giver.
But he is always portrayed as a great strategist in fan stories.

Ares, i was re-reading this story when i discovered that in the summary that tell you the description of the fic, you have put Belgium instead of Bulgary.
I expect that pointing your error you could correct it.

My regards.

Glad to see you writing again, I understand how the muse can drag you in a different direction and I have to say I agree with many of your thoughts. Hoping to enjoy seeing you write more and more soon!

Neat! I really enjoyed this. I was just wondering where Ron was getting the money to continue traveling for another five years?

I liked your ending and I understand why you wrote about the letter and did not have Harry open it. That said, I also think it would have been interesting to have added on a few lines at the end saying something along the lines of:
"Meanwhile in a small town in Venezuela (pick random country), Ron Weasley was attempting to pace. He wasn't doing well at it considering that he could only take three strides in one direction before he had to turn and walk the other way. The tiny jail cell he was locked into just wasn't very conducive to pacing.
As Ron paced he mumbled to himself, 'Come on, come on. It's been 6 days now. Where is he?' he asked as he stopped to crane his neck to peer out of the small window cut into the cinder block wall. 'They said I only got to send one owl. It would have taken at least a day to get to England. I've just got to hold on. How was I supposed to know I wasn't supposed to do that?' he grumbled.
Ron stuck his head close to the bars and tried to see where the big muggle leese-men had taken his clothes and his wand. If only he had payed more attention in class when they were going over wand less magic! He had already tried that though and it was no use. He was stuck here in this scummy jail cell until his best friend came to bail him out. That is, if he DID come. Which was silly, Harry always rescued people... didn't he? Ron shuddered as he slid down the wall to sit on the cold floor. He was told he only had 7 days. Then he'd be taken to something called a 'Maximum Security Facility'. He didn't even know what that was but he knew it was bad. He looked up at the moonlight seeping through the tiny window. 'Come on Harry, come on...'"

I was just picturing Ron in a bad situation and by choosing not to open the letter Harry will force him to stand on his own two feet and grow up. Your story makes you not particularly feel warm n fuzzy toward Ron but an ending like the above would leave the reader feeling a bit sorry for him I think. Either that or thinking he got what he deserved!

Keep writing! Can't wait to read more of your work.

hey mistress of potions. whilst it is true that hermione name is found in shakespeare. Its origin does come from greek mythology. In Greek Mythology, Hermione was the daughter of helen of troy the most beautiful women in the world and Hermione had intellegence and beauty making her a formidable warrior and ruler. which is why JK Rowling named Hermione that. so both yourself and other are correcr. hope you don't mind my reply. But its always useful to have the information.

Every word, every pair, every child and every family- wonderful! Simply wonderful! I love how you've combined the past and the present every time.

Though, there's something I'd like to point out - you've said that Harry learnt the pureblood traditions of naming children (middle name) after their fathers; but what about Hermione and Draco's children along with the Weasleys? Their children do not have their father's names as middle names.

Apart from this, these two chapters are nearly perfect!
I love the "redeemed" Harry (it's the first time I'm reading a somehow "redeemed war hero" because normally it's the Death Eaters that should be redeemed)
I have ti point out that it's very easy to dislike or hate Ronald Bilius Weasley (I genuinely don't like him at all!) but Harry - I cannot dislike him, ever. I'm grateful you've turned him in the good guy again!
Bless him for yelling at Ronald Bilius Weasley and going back to the hotel to apologize!

Compared to many, I don't even care about what Ronald Bilius Weasley has written in the letter - I'm hoping tjat he's broke from all his traveling things, he's unemployed and more miserable than anything! Serves that git right!

I love this story a lot! Thank you for writing this!

I love Dramione's relationship in this fic. I also love all the other pairings you made here. It feels right to read that there were many marriages between those of different houses. Makes it all the more concrete that the war had changed lives AND allowed for second chances. Plus, a touchy feely and 'randy' Dramione? Priceless.
