I love the interactions between the two Durin boys and Collie and Thorin's quiet concern that Collie should be shielded from hearing/learning the curses spouted by Dori:D
It's been quite awhile since I last read LOTR but I think the Huorns are mentioned there and I like that you have 'brought' them here. It is a good link between the two books:) And that scene of Nori and the branch is very funny:D
Now I am wondering if Collie is not from the future?...
Perhaps a conversation between Thorin and Collie during their watch will clear-up some of the confusion about the situation they are in.
Do not worry about mixing scripts. Like I said before repeating word for word from the movie will be boring, but I do understand that some scripts from the movie need to be said and you're doing it very well here. You have an additional character, so you need additional lines as well:)
You are making a good decision about Tauriel. To me, she didn't feel right even in the movie. I like her as a female warrior but not as a love interest.:)

I dislike for foreshadowing of trouble with Azog because of her lineage. *frowns and whispers* "I will hunt you down and murder you in your bed if you kill, destroy, or any way end Collie's existence." *hides knife behind back and slips into the shadows* "I'm watching very closely."

first, good job! it was a fun chapter but I would have liked it to be longer. with more insight to the relationships building between fee, kee, and collie. it seems a bit rushed. I for one am very glad that you are not running line by line by the movie, it gets a little tedious after all. I am looking forward to the next chapter!

I like Fili and Kili trying to get Collie a nickname. Then her having to go on and on explaining about things in Modern Day Earth. I also enjoyed the story about the hunting trip.

I live in the south, and it cracks me up how close you hit the mark in some of this stuff! Example: If you don't have the right materials, find something else and make it work! Lol! My granddad used to say something like this all the time! Except he said stuff instead of material. Ha! Ha! You named the pony Itchy for 'obvious reasons'? I never thought of animal names like that before... I should have named my cat 'Sneezy'... for obvious reasons!D

"A dilemma you no doubt caused" OMG! This had me laughing so hard that people were starting to look at me weird! Uh-oh! Thorin isn't happy, Gandalf isn't happy, and Collie isn't happy with either of them! And as to Gandalf and Thorin's interaction, it was... interesting. I felt like you wrote it... how do I say this? You wrote their conversation in a way where I could really feel the emotion. That part of the chapter definitely had a tense tone to it.
