Another very good chapter.:D The image of Thorin having the conversation about Collie with Gandalf in the previous chapter was very well done - that sort of... I'm irritated with you, you are irritated with me played out very well. If I have a teeny-weeny ...doubt? I always picture Thorin as a very stern Dwarf but he seemed to very easily accept the explanation about Collie's relationship to Frerin based on the colour of her eyes - probably because he knew the colour Durin's blue and I don't:D It must be a very unusual blue, though. Well, there's Thrain's nose too. Like I said it's just a teeny-weeny doubt so it's no problem at all. I'm really enjoying reading this story.
I laughed at the image of Thorin lifting Collie up into the saddle:D The conversation between Collie and Balin is also very funny:D and I'm so looking forward to the Dwarves' reaction on Collie's age. I'm imagining Thorin shouting at Gandalf - "Gandalf, you robbed a cradle!"

What a splendid book! Normally I don't read first unless there's at least twenty chapters, but your summary just drew me in and I'm so glad it did!
I especially loved the part where the dwarves find out she's only 16 (a mere babe in their eyes).

I like their reactions to her age, I'll bet that they would have had another spit-take if they were at the table again. I love her connection between the dwarves' names and Dr. Seuss! I think that it is cute how Kili and Fili have become like her brothers now that they can't flirt with her. Speaking of flirting, I noticed something going on between Collie and Bofur which I think is really sweet, even if something serious never comes of it. Update soon, please!

Also, I sense the building of a ship concerning Bofur and Collie, it would be hella cute. I know I already said this, but I'm gonna keep saying it until I see it happen.
