Good heavens, this chapter gave me chills!
one thing I have noticed in your stories is the intensity of feeling between the lead characters, even though they might hide it or not display it much. Here too it is clear that Darcy and Elizabeth feel a lot for each-other, however distant they might have remained in the past.
Then there are the life-threatening situations they find themselves in. All in all, it makes for some compulsive reading.

Well, Darcy defied my expectations (sorry Darcy!), but I can't help questioning the wisdom of a doctor who gets on a plane with a raging temperature, knowing he has pneumonia. What was he thinking?
I like how you've mixed book characters in with your own. I'm wondering how you'll spin the book characters' back stories, particularly Wickham and Mr Collins, who already comes across as shifty. I'm curious as to why each of them would be going to Beijing and where exactly they have crash landed.

So you got me! Even though I didn't think I'd want to read a modern P&P. All I did was take a little peek out of curiosity...
I don't know why, but I love that Darcy is unwell and therefore a little exposed and vulnerable... but sick men rarely show their best characteristics, and doctors make the worst patients. Hmm. Elizabeth might be about to be truly tested in more ways than just those a plane crash brings.
I'm looking forward to learning more about their past as the present unfolds.

As always, a wonderfully well written and intriguing story and I am already hooked two chapters in! You write the tension and feelings between Darcy and Elizabeth so well and with the requisite restraint of Austen characters although I really appreciate the modern P&P context you have created. I am an anxious flyer so your crash scenario seemed realistic to me - horrific! I look forward to enjoying how your story unfolds - I am going to sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride :D

I'm really thrilled with how you're doing this, slowly unwrapping the story. Darcy and Lizzy are already cuddling and it's just the second chapter! I know there will be a hiccup or two to end their canoodling, but I am enjoying their truce. I was surprised that the young Bennett sisters show up as fellow (unrelated) passengers. Wickham! ( I said that like Seinfeld says Newman). Very Interesting.

I feel like this story could possibly put me through the ringer, but even still, I'm very much enjoying it (:
I look forward also to seeing how other peoples characters differ to the originals. As soon as I read George's name I couldn't help but sneer but so far he doesn't seem so bad (admittedly we're only at the very beginning, anything could happen, I know.)
