Wow, Elizabeth still believes that? I mean, Darcy has pretty much bared his soul to her in the present, so it doesn't seem he cares about her having a degree or a fancy career. Not any longer.
Yes, social or family pressure moulds us to a certain extent, and it is possible that they would have broken up sooner or later, even without the horrible machinations of Caroline Bingley. However, I believe the years they have spent apart have made it very clear to Darcy how empty his life is without Elizabeth. I'm sure he's proud of her career.
And of course he's feeling guilty as hell. Elizabeth's words that he should have a woman of his stature as his girlfriend/wife...I think he might cry.

I needed a tissue warning with that one...especially at the end. Her self-doubt and true belief in it, along with her realization (and false belief) that she doesn't deserve him is palpable and had me reaching for the kleenex. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Such an incredible story! I w already reread your chapters, at least once. You never disappoint me! So much happiness (even if they are in a frozen tundra or in a sultry scene) so much happiness (realizing how much they mean to each other and that they have so much in common like being each other’s first). How sweet they are with one another and how everyone needs to accept it and watching Darcy pull her onto his lap! Swoon! Such an incredibly visual, sweet, passionate and yet filled with so much sadness due to loss! Love every damn minute! Wish you could know how much this story means to me and how happy I am when I see an update! Yes! So damn happy!

First of all I must say that I love your story so much and I always check on it for a new chapter
as for the last chapter I find that Darcy being a virgin at the age of 30 is hard to believe not matter what excuse you give . As for Elizabeth I can understand because she is still living with her parents and she is still young and she has some other issues

But such a pity she has so little self-esteem, and that he has previously shown his very-decided opinions on things that actually don’t matter that much (the degree for example). It will be tough back-pedalling from that.
