Silva's Specters. Ha, that's bloody perfect!
Liked Rico's taunt too, he's becoming a regular Preston Cole. Let's see if he can pull off an equal class of batshit-genius strategy. Hope the ground battle is as awesome as I think it will be.
Thought: Could do something creative with razor-wire or the Fed's version of it. Molecule-thin blades, high-frequency vibration, or microscopic needles in the wire loaded with neurotoxin like a jellyfish's tentacles. Dead-end trenches loaded with a couple auto turrets guarding a faux bunker would be a good dirty trick too.
But regardless, it looks like Earth, Mars and Roku San are in for a hell of a siege. Here's hoping the bugs like to main Fuze or Glaz and they'll screw the game over for themselves.
No clue what the Citadel's strategy is going to be at this point, they haven't had a serious war since the Krogan Rebellions more than a thousand years back. I got faith in the Turians but I wonder if the Asari and Salarians have the stomach for a total war scenario regarding a conflict they don't really have a stake in.

Very interesting chapter. I like that you're keeping the momentum going forward rather than dwelling too much on the tragedy. People forget that after the Pearl Harbor Attack by the Empire of Japan, they didn't wait for the Americans to retaliate, that would be stupid, the IJN and IJA continued going on the offensive, taking more islands under American control like Wake island. So good points there.
Good points also on humans being human (flawed and chaotic but also heroic) in the face of the Bug offensive.
Glad the Batarians are scheming, let's see if it lands them in any hot water.
Involving the mysterious Coven at last are you? I've been wondering about them. Time to see if my theory about them being a splinter society of Asari Ardat-Yakshi is correct.
As an end note and if it isn't going too far, I'd like to suggest something. With the Federation in a defensive posture a good defensive battle 'Hold the line' scenario might be welcome, a change of pace compared to prior battles. Use it wherever you feel it would fit and if it would fit in the context of the story but I've always been fascinated with trench warfare. You would have the Federation on one side in a well prepared defensive line holding out against a full-on assault. If you need a base plan to work off of, you should have a look at the Hindenburg Line from World War 1, it's beautiful. www .youtube watch?v5vvGK_BWsI4
