It's so odd to see Shepard holding authority over so many people who 1) are vastly more experienced than her, 2) vastly outrank her, and/or 3) are vastly more capable than her. Seriously, the Chief calling her ma'am and answering to her when he's the leader of the entire Spartan program and has a rank equivalent to an admiral while she's mere a Commander stretches credulity it almost comes across like he's making fun of her.

First off, great chapter, and I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of writing it. Second, I 100% agree with the idea of migrating to ao3. For all its flaws, ao3 is still vastly superior to the outdated, barely functional (and sometimes, even that is put into question) pile of garbage that is ffn. The recent ...interesting decisions made by ffn's owners regarding how the site functions only compund this.

Thanks for the chapter! Is this where the Citadel learns that the Geth are now part of the Wardens? (That is this story right? Been a hot minute haha!) I can't wait to see that revelation.

While I will admit that 343 industry along with halo had a very rough time compared to other franchises that managed to survive Covid lockdown and mass layoffs. But recently halo has become more stable and stronger leadership to run the business who loves the franchise rather than people who didn't care and made things worse. Not to mention they have several novels and plans for future games that have fans hopeful. During Covid the development of halo infinite was unhealthy due to the mass layoffs and hiring of new young bloods and laying them off again made things very rough and patchy. In the meantime why don't you try occupy your time with other epic crossover ideas. Like perhaps halo x dragon age or fate grand order x diablo. These are just things I want but as I said don't force yourself take a break and enjoy something new while you're coming up with ideas.

Good chapter it's nice to see this back on 343 honestly my issue has been how flip-floppy they have been with the main storyline of the games, On the chapter itself I think your choices for the Halo team for Normandy were pretty good. Honestly, I do wonder how the stuff with the Geth is going to go down but it probably ends a lot more peacefully than the characters are expecting.
