Always worth the wait to see an update of this story.
Anyway, liking how maturely the stuff between Caleb and Sephiria was handled, as well as the fight Will and Matt had. Speaking of, still looking forward to seeing what role he and Alchemy have as things go forward. Likewise with Jackie taking a more active role on Meridian.
On the villainous side of things, I'm also curious as to just what the Cavalcade's master is planning for Jade, though I'm aware we probably won't find out for a long time yet. In the more short-term, loving how Ludmoore's plan for the attack on his manor didn't go quite as he anticipated, and really excited that Wong is finally making his move.
Keep up the good work.

Another truly brilliant chapter. :)
The short meeting between Tarakudo and Ms. Kimber as he retrieved the mask was well done and interesting. I have to admit i'm rather surprised he didn't want to take advantage of the fact Kimber is a genuine seer, as knowledge of the future is useful no matter how you cut it.
But I guess I can understand he already has his plans and faith in them, so I suppose in his eyes he has no need for Ms. Kimber talents. Because he already knows the future for himself and his generals will be victory.
Ms Kimber herself certainly proves to be a interesting character during her short scene. Perhaps the first true really neutral character that's appeared in the story, and she's quite happy/content with her choices and place to it seems.
Though i'm rather curious if we will see Ms. Kimber appear again later down the line? Because while Tarakudo wasn't interested i'm sure plenty of others would want to use Kimber's talent to their own advantage if they learned about it.
Of course knowledge of the future will always be a double edge sword in my eyes to be honest.
Next we see Elyon enjoying the perks of being a princess and loving every minute of it to it seems.
She also went out to meet her future people of Meridian while being guarded by Miranda and Tristan. Her outing went well at first with healing that man, and the peoples reaction to her deed.
But we quickly learn not everyone is happy with Elyon or her return as seen in that old croon. Who if understand her right blames Elyon for not being there to stop Phobos or the war.
To be frank I really don't think that's being fair to Elyon at all. Also I think this incident might serve as a example for one of the flaws of Heart wielders ruling worlds like Elyons ancestors have done which is over reliance.
I believe the people of Meridian grew to depend on the power of the Heart of Meridian so much that their greatest strength also became their worlds greatest weakness. I mean look what happen to Meridian when the Heart was taken out of the equation.
A good comparison for this example is Avatar the Last Airbender when the Avatar was gone from the Elemental Nations for over a hundred years. The Elemental Nations relied on the Avatar so much that certain people who could have stopped the war or changed things for the better didn't, but rather waited for the Avatars return.
I think the same thing might have kinda happen in Meridian, though I admit I could be wrong.
Anyway we see Phobos once more proving himself the Puppet Prince as he enlist Elyon in the planed attack on Charles Ludmoore exactly as the Lurdmoore family wants/plans.
I'm certainly looking forward to seeing how that confrontation/attack turns out, especially if the Guardians and friends get involved.
The short confrontation between Daolon Wong and Nerissa was awesome. It appears to have ended in a draw battle wise, but victory seems have gone mostly to Nerissa. Leaving with a threat that's sure to make Wong more than paranoid, as well as his formula for artificial shapeshifters. Which she's bound to put to good use later on.
Back on Earth we see how the Guardians and Friends are doing. The scene with Hay Lin seems to show she's bitter about Elyon actions, but it seems trying to bury it under cheer/smiles. But how long till the bitterness grows to the point where she can't deny or hide it even from herself?
I have to admit i'm really looking forward to seeing how Elyon actions/choices will affect her relationship with the Guardians and Chan Clan later on down the road when she learns the truth about everything.
From what you told me last time it's bound to be interesting, and not everyone will be forgive and forget.
We see Cornelia spend some time with her family and get some advice from her father on what to do regarding her current situation with her friend turned enemy. While telling her a revised story of what happen all those centuries ago with Lancelot and Guinevere.
We also learn that not only did Harold/Arthur somehow know one of Escanor ancestors, but that he and the rest of the Dark Hand we're unaware of Elyon true identity as Meridians princess. Which proves that this partner is hiding information from them and vice versa.
Next we see some interesting development for Jade and Irma. As Jade realizes/admits to herself her preference to the fairer sex and her attraction to Irma.
While Irma comes out of the closet to the most unexpected person in Martin. Which I think really went well and possible the start of a good friendship between the two.
Finally we see Tarakudo meet and come in conflict with the Guardians and the rest of the Chan Clan in person for the first time. Which was simply EPIC! Seriously Tarakudo really once again proved himself a mastermind this chapter.
Putting those masks on Jackie and Viper was a very unexpected move. But the Masks/Generals prove their powers in corrupting their hosts even the most noble hearted or intended individuals like Jackie aren't immune to their effects.
Also really like the twist you've added to the Mini Khan where eating other Shadowkhan also gives them greater size/power. Plus it really does work and fit so well too.
Anyway that entire confrontation was I as I said awesome, but what made it even better was the twist of it all being a distraction. All so Tarakudo could claim the Hana Fuda cards, which i'm guessing he will either destroy or use to the find masks he currently is unaware of.
Either way this leaves the Chan Clan and Guardians at a severe disadvantage. As without the cards they won't be able to find out what ingredient is used to remove the remaining masks. Which leaves only one option that's shown to work for removing the mask killing the host.
Also if they don't reclaim the Cards than the odds of them finding out about Tarakudo own mask hidden in the Shadow Realm is even lower.
All together this was a brilliant strategy and move on Tarakudo part.
Last but not least I really love the twist of both Matt and Alchemy stumbling upon the battle against the mask controlled Viper and Jack. It's a really interesting development and I look forward to seeing what will happen there.
All together another perfect enjoyable chapter. :)

Tarakudo and part was hilarious with broken stereotypes and her completely don’t caring.
Elyor "field trip" and her absence in capital is well explain and open doors for lots of interesting developments in capital. I think that making Tristan a bodyguard can bring troubles for all big bads in castle. His primary motivation was vengeance against the rebels but I didn't see much love for prince. If Princess by being herself will catch his heart he may tell her what kind of man is her brother. Because of his form it make me think about "The Scorpion and the Frog".
Harold is caring father and try his best but nearly reveal himself. Unlike his name, Lancelot is unpopular in our times and connects with only one person. I don't know much about Arthurian legend but so far I heard about this situations but if it will go deeper I will start asking "what are you talking about?".
At least nobility try to make one plan, it is to early to guess what will be the final decision. Nerissa attack wasn't as effective as she hope but it is gain for her anyway. Caleb love triangle plot line is starting to accelerate.
I think that Martin had right to demand an explanation and when he got it he acted as good and reasonable person. So Irma and Jade will be a thing, this development is neutral for me except for fact that we know but bought sides will dance around the subject, which can be fun.
Tarakudo really shine with this plan. Early influence of masks was funny, table manners about eating brain and Japanese squid being a pervert (Why i am not surprised?). I think that Jackie motivation which make him go crazy will be bring up later because he told it to Jade. Not asking previous life that have experience in fighting Oni for help would be really stupid but it is good to have confirmation that it happened. Stealing cards was excellent move especially because now only way for heroes to stop 3 unknown is killing host. It will be hard even with a villain but can you imagine what will happen if it will be on face of a friend. Am I right that unknowns are razor, crabs and samurais?
It is shame that we will have to wait for talk with Matt and Alchemy to future chapter. Honesty should help with Will relationship. Alchemy can be neutral party between Cornelia and Elyon, and it will be needed.

So I guess Irma isn't going to have any Andrew Hornby jokes played on her in this story.

Marvelous ending. I loved the twist you put in here, it really shows Tarakudo as a dangerous strategist. I look forward to seeing how our heroes will get out of this one.
Also that little bit about General Shiryu being a pervert and enjoying possessing a woman's body was hilarious.

Wow, a lot to unpack this chapter.
Amazing battle sequence, and as usual, I loved your personalities for the Oni. And excellent plan on Tarakudo's part. And speaking of battles, also liking the fight between Nerissa and Wong.
Meanwhile, interesting choice to have Alchemy join Matt in finding out the truth. It'll be interesting to see what you do with her now that you're moving her up from mostly background character to something more important.
Also liking how you finally addressed the chemistry between Jade and Irma, if only mostly on the former's part.
Keep up the good work.

Another good chapter. Elyon getting use to her new role as a Princess and discovers not everyone love her or her brother. Both sides are reacting to Elyon and how this would fit into there plans. Harold give Cornelia greta advice on how to reach Elyon using his own experience from his past, he understandably bitter but is willing to admit his fault and even admit he does not know who fault it is anymore. It official Jade and Irma are lesbians that have feeling for each other. I have mix feeling about this. On one hand Im normally again making canon straight, because it seem out of character and a cheat way to get two characters of the same sex together. On the other hand this is fan fiction and we have a right to pair characters to who every we want. And more importantly done right changing a canon character sexuality can be good for the story. Since the chemistry between Jade and Irma has been building for a while I say you done there relationship right and Im looking forward to see were there relationship goes.
I was afraid how you handle Martin Tubbs, I like that character both as a love interest and friend to Irma and I was a little afraid you just bash that character to make room for Jade and Irma. But you did not, instead Irma finally talk to Martin and expand it was a mix him going on to strong and her sexuality, and Im glad Irma said it was not Martin look. Im glad those two are friends now and all the tension between the two are gone.
Finally Jackie and Viper were use again the girls as a distraction and Matt and Alchemy discover there secret. Can,t wait to see were this goes.

I love this chapter, you give a great reason why Ellyon goes with Cedric, a mix of wanting to be special, trust in Cedric and resentment to Cornelia, it was heartbreaking seeing the flashbacks were Ellyon grow bitter to Cornelia and her leaving with Cedric.

KO awesome chapter, well that was crazy for Jackie and Viper to suddenly go Oni on their friends and family, and that was only a distraction for the leader to get the cards to find the last three Oni masks. I wonder if Jackie and Viper will finally have some moments together?

Well, Harold was surprised to learn about Elyon, and he reveals, not really, about his past with 'Lance.'
Nerissa attacks Wong, but doesn't succeed, Phobos is phobos. But Elyon getting attacked, that wasn't expected.
OH! The fortune Teller! I wonder if she foresees this ending well, or Tarakudo destroyed?
Either way, typical neutral figure.
Course, Charles Ludmoore is FAR from Neutral in all of this as he would have them believe.
Matt and Aclhmey now know, wow.
Oh Cyrus, you don't know how right you are...and what about you? Are you becoming your mask?
Tarakudo stole the cards!
Awwww. the mini shadowkhans XD
Another great one.

I feel like this chapter artfully played out, very well done. Elyon's conflicted feelings were so true to heart and Cedric played her so well. Glad to see her back in Meridian at last, and I can't wait to see how this will affect the war effort on all sides.

Now this has been one AWESOME chapter, and early birthday present. :)
We start things off with some looks in the past in Elyon perspective. We really see that Cornelia really acted one huge Queen Bitch in the past. I know she had her reasons but her past attitude and actions have really come back to haunt big time this chapter.
It certainly seems to me that Elyon has some resentment towards Cornelia and maybe self esteem issues comparing herself to her a bit, that's been even before the girl became guardians.
I loved the confrontation with the Browns it was really done well. As the life they built for themselves around the lie of Elyon being their daughters fall apart before their eyes.
The short confrontation and fight (If it can be called that since Cedric beat so easily.) Cedric had with Alborn and Miriael was really well done. It seems all those years of living in peace without even training had made these two warrior lose their edge. Speaking of which very interesting tidbit about their past we find out they are the only surviving members of Queen Weira's royal guard. Which is certainly a interesting bit addition to their characters.
Another interesting bit I noticed was Alborn calling Cedric a filthy beast. This makes me think he's one of those that despises shape shifter's as species. Which makes me wonder if this or Alborn himself will cause problems for Jade down the line.
Cedric made a very good point if they had just been honest from the beginning he could have never been able to trick Elyon. That was one the biggest threat/flaw to the plan, not knowing if Elyon had been told the truth. Sadly fate played to their favor and she hadn't.
Part of me wonders what plan B would have been if she had known the truth, since there's the whole Heart must be willingly given thing.
The entire confrontation/fight the Guardians, Jade, and Caleb had with Cedric and Elyon was epic and perfect!
As Elyon finds out about the secret her oldest friend Cornelia has been keeping from her. She finally let's loose all the resentment she's been bottling up as she let's her now former friend have it. Elyon might be new to her power but even untrained raw power at her level is still enough to help her fight those she sees as enemies.
I like the twist that Cedric actually reveals to Elyon he's a shapeshifter and his other form unlike canon. It's actually a good move that will certainly help the deception with bits of honesty here and there.
I'm guessing this means Elyon will be finding out more about the species that inhabit Meridian than she did in canon, and a lot sooner as well. Which would probably only help this little deception. For example Elyon didn't know about the Lurdens in canon, and freaked out when she stumbled upon them working.
Jade using what she's learned of blood magic on Cedric was a very cunning move on her part. Correct me if i'm wrong but I think this might be the first time she's used her blood magic in actual battle, since she started learning it. As what she did to Tharquin was just a execution not really a fight.
When Elyon arrives to Meridian and meets her brother for the first time, we see that despite how crazy Phobos is, and how others players in this game just consider him a pawn at most. He's still not as incompetent as some might think shown he easily lies and starts his manipulations of Elyon.
Next we see that it seems the Ludmoore family aren't wasting time making their next move. Starting with Charles telling Cedric to convince Phobos to attack. That way he has a reason to end his neutrality in the war, and help the Rebels. Also Cedric remarks to Miranda in their reunion that the time has come for his family to conclude phase 1. Which certainly makes me wonder not only what phase 2 will be, but how their ending phase 1.
Also on a unrelated note I'm really curious to see how Elyon interact's with all those apart of Phobos faction and court she meets will turn out. As in canon she mainly only interacted with Phobos, Miranda, Cedric. But i'm guessing she's going to be interacting with a lot more than just them this time around.
We see see what's become of Alborn and Miriael now residents of Cavigor, with a very surprising cellmate in none other than Drago! Seriously been looking forward to his appearance in the story that's for sure. :)
The fact he's in Meridian and a prisoner at Cavigor is a great unexpected twist. This has me wonder if the Rebels and allies do attempt to free the prisoners at Cavigor, if this means they will gain a very unexpected ally in Drago himself.
It would certainly be interesting to see how the Chan clan interacts with the son of one of their worst enemies as a ally.
Of course the fact that Cedric was the one that captured Drago in the frist place, makes me wonder if he's part of the Ludmoore schemes as a ally. His capture and being held as a prisoner for a time could just be another deception like "Drake's" mother. But only time will tell.
All together this was yet again another spectacular chapter. :)
