I think that in season 2 you should have Nerissa prepare her knights of vengeance consisting of Raythor, Roberta, Frost, Tracker, Sandpit and Gargoyle while Miranda aims to break Cedric out of the infinite city dungeons as she is still allied with Charles and the other Ludmoore family members to crush Kandrakar once and for all as they begin to plot there ultimate victory as they know the young naïve queen Elyon stands no chance as they deliberately set up Phobos conquest of Meridian to remove queen Weira and Zordon so that no one could reveal to Elyon the crimes that Kandrakar committed against Meridian as Charles knows Himerish will never revel them to her himself. I think that Charles should smile evilly knowing that breaking Cedric out won't be hard and it will be easy to Manipulate Elyon as she has already proven to be very naïve from Cedric's Manipulations so she will fall to Nerissa which is also part of there plan to use the fallen guardian to weaken Kandrakar while she will fall to the newest guardians when they gain there full power but by that time Nerissa should have gained the heart of Meridian and disposed of her knights of Vengeance as the forces of evil start to grow in strength as Nimue desperately seeks aid to stop the rise of darkness only to fail as Charles grants Shagon command of the bat Tribe mask. I think that Will should begin to question her masters the Oracle and his council of sages as she knows that they are not good people as they left Meridian in Phobos hands for 13 long years nearly 14 and allowed Uncle to die which cost them Jade who abandoned them in shame for not managing to save Uncle but she did not land in Meridian instead she was drawn to Bastilla by the portal as Drago also headed there after the Oracle lowered the vail around Meridian unknown to him Jonathan Ludmoore's descends have survived worse they are all Naga's reptilian shapeshifters having made a deal with Mab the last of the true Naga's over two hundred years ago. I think that Jade should learn the truth of this events from Oruba on Bastilla as she reveals that her ancestors fought the Naga's of Meridian alongside Himerish revealing that once Meridian was home to many magical creatures from Werewolf's to Chi vampires along with regular vampires and dragons and then Kandrakar matched in a thousand years ago and defeated them as she reveals that Shendu's father may have been one of the dragon's that was slain that day by Oracle Vritra forces stating that earth and the demon netherworld along with the Shadow realm where all created by Kandrakar to hold the worst criminals of the dimensions or in there eyes or those who knew to much where exiled from there worlds there.

I am happy to see new chapter of this great story.
I have no problem with season 2 getting its own story but is there chance for information in this when second season will be published?
Very interesting consideration about evil, like you have said it is very complicated.
Very interesting to see why and what is goal even if it is still unclear.
Ludmoore on the beginning was man of the people and hero. I wonder about this book appearing from nowhere, really suspicious.
I don't know details but it look like Ludmoore acted like an idiot. There was some crime in the past and all involved agree about it but Ludmoore desire to go public don't give an impression that something else than chaos would come from this. I am under impression that nothing would have happened to him if he agreed to keep his mouth shut.
I understand why he become vengeful with loss of everything. Still his actions very fast make me lose sympathy for him. It already started when he tested curse on innocent person and him killing guinea pig crossed it for me.
The moment that brother riches were mentioned I expected that it will end like this.
So Mab is where shapeshifting come from in this family. I wonder how much future generations were indoctrinated into this plan.
Three metaphor was really interesting and nice visualization. I really wonder if plans go beyond burning everything down because it can easily grow back even worse.
Kandrakar was really incompetent in handling of Ludmoore.
Anyway after seeing Ludmoore scheme beginning I understand why you count Nerissa among chestamsters. He was no better then her and maybe even worse.
Announced characters make me excited and curious for more. Jade obviously interest my but after her latest actions and Cavalcade of Horrors interest in her it is not that surprising. Shendu is biggest surprise for me because I didn't even knew if he will appear in the story with him being separated from old world destruction.
I have problem with you referring to Kandrakar as a planet if there is only sky and citadel. Of course it is possible that it is gas giant and it have habitable zone in its atmosphere and anything would be torn apart by storms, pressure and dangerous gases before reaching anything resembling surface creating illusion of endless sky.

I LOVED THIS! :) Seriously just so absolutely love for this! I mean really love getting some highlight on characters past and motivation, especially when it's the person playing the part of the apparent "villain" of the tale.
But as we all know there's so many sides to a tale than just one or even two~ Seriously the origins of the Ludmoore family plot and motivation with it all going back to the story of Jonathan Ludmoore was played so brilliant and tragically.
Plus great highlight at Kandrakar's darker side and that they aren't all they show themselves at, and seriously can only eagerly wait when Guardian's realize the darker side of their "masters".
Ludmoore really feel for a person with genuine desire to help his people and world and so much more, but learning whatever dark history of Kandrakar they sought to bury and burn truly changed his mindset.
Where rather than save the tree he came to believe that for any hope all the poisoned soil and it's fruit must be burned away for the seeds of something new to be planted in the ashes.
Hmm admit not sure how far back this takes place in the past, mostly not sure if baby Thena is the mother of Phobos and Elyon (As their mothers name is escaping me right now) or someone else further down the family tree line.
I also love the twist with Nimue entering Ludmoore tale so this means Cedric, Cyrus, and Charles are actually descent from Nimue than, that's certainly a twist didn't expect. Though wonder if Nimue realized the magic user she was facing in Charles in those mountains way back in the story was her descendant or not?
Or if her part in the Ludmoore family plot and tale will come back to haunt her? Certainly yet another thing to look forward too, among many other delights in this fic! :)
All together love the latest twist your taking with the epilogue and highlights on the various "villains" and more highlight on their motivations and story, and of course especially looking forward to Jades.
As get the feeling just like Jonathan Ludmoore she's in the middle of starting her own changing cross roads path, and I'm excited to see where it takes her.

Well, this is a surprise. I was just expecting a wrap-up, rather than this backstory stuff. Nice touch.
Okay, so this all explains the Ludmoore family's long-term planning against Kandrakar. And I like how you've left vague the exact details of what the Oracle and Escanors did, giving us just the basic idea. I assume we'll find out the full truth in Season 2 whenever that's published.
Looking forward to whatever secrets we learn from these other epilogues.
Keep up the good work.

Now I really need to know what Vritra did! And come on, no chapters about Phobos, Cedric, Daolon Wong, and Valmont? But this is still great, and if u dont mind I'd love a review or 2 on any of my stories.

I really want this to come out to the guardians and have them including elyon react to how they turned a Genuinely good person into a Broken sociopath who wants to burn the world down to remake it.

Excellent chapter.
You already did Uncle death properly epic in last chapter. In this you show him proper respect by putting lot of emphasis on how it affects everybody. This is respectful way to kill important character.
Jackie and Uncle past and talk about tears was beautiful scene. It also create interesting analogy between Jackie training to help Jade in her grief.
Uncle last thought were really nice. Remembering all his failures but remembering that he have saved girls allow him to do proudly, only regretting that he will not see them bloom.
Chan Clan onslaught in response to loss was beautiful. Jade and Jackie were especially impressive. I was surprised that he knew such technique but your explanation is acceptable.
You have fooled me, not that I hold a grudge because you did not lied. I was impressed by this misdirection (I don't know when you decide that he will die now). I thought that Phobos will have permanent damage from this fight and hold biggest grudge toward Chans because of his vanity. His death really surprised me Jackie definitely deserve credit for this kill.
It is obvious that something affected Caleb and Phobos so Sword of Thanatos will be destroyed but I have no idea why. As for "who?" demon used to make Horn of Hypnos seems as a most likely culprit.
Elyon is saying "my power" a lot but it is not arrogance but guilt. She starts to try to make up for it. Healing people best example of this. Especially how she disregarded comments that it is beneath her dignity.
I agree that public execution could bring some peace of the mind to most people hurt by tyrant. Dying in his cell alone was poetic but did not satisfied people. Let's be honest for some people nothing would be satisfying. I doubt if Jade would be satisfied even if she was allowed to mauled him personally until his corpses can't even be identified as human. She miss Uncle killing Phobos will not help her with this. There is reason why "Vengeance Feels Empty" cliché exist. I think that non empty vengeance is when person that hurts you continue to do it and your focus is at least partially to stop him/her. It was tragic that even in dead Phobos was doing damage (argument over what to do with him) Nerissa is right that his death don't change much for her plans but her initial reaction reality shows that she is average schemer at best. With so many more competent players she don't even deserve Chessmaster moniker in my opinion. Really biggest difference to canon that prince death bring is that Seal of Nerissa cannot be taken away like in canon but with so many players in game it is unknown if it will be even created.
I don't have anything individual to say about how Uncle death affected everyone but I really like how it is depicted for each person and some variations in reaction depending on person. It look like it may make breaking guardians much easier for Nerissa.
I was really confused by Big Rip Bomb but I was able to find Big Rip theory for end of universe and I assume that they are related. Original idea usually black holes are weaponized. On the other hand with how there are multiple dimensions having weapon able to destroy whole universe seams useful even if little excessive.
Captain Black have noticed the conspiracy, really impressive. I assume that J-Team are extra help he wants to contact. Uncle death give him perfect excuse to meet Jackie in person (they are friends after all) but I am not sure what he will tell him. Mourning don't seem right moment but rarely such cases can be ignored. I wonder if he will learn about Guardians at similar time. Was not one of mine reason of keeping this information away from him because he would have to tell his superiors?
Aldarn have awaken and how much healthier mindset. He can’t find in himself to support new way so he decided to get out of the way. I doubt that it is last we see him.
Lothar already was showing qualities that heroes wanted so no wonder that they wants his help for Queen. Honestly they say to him to continue what he was doing near end of Phobos regime. No wonder he have agreed. Building trust will definitely take time if ever but for now common goal should be enough.
Funeral was also very good scene.
"King of Kings" I assume that you mean Harold? You made this up or took it from somewhere. I only knew "Once and Future King" and "King of Knights" (from Fate) I forgot about girl and her partner but "old knight" make me think that Arthur is not only survivor of Camelot. Maybe Lancelot.
Cavalcade of Horrors is preparing to make a move and I assume that Jade is part of this. Maybe even made portal as last push.
I can understand why Jade run away and it is solid cliffhanger for end of season.
Personally I would prefer if extra chapters and season 2 were not made separated from the story if only for ease of following it but publishing short notification in this story when first chapter appear will work as well.

Well, this has been a wonderful story, all the twists' turns, and heartache, especially with this last chapter. Uncle's demise will leave a hole that none of the heroes will be able to fully deal with in season 2. All the juicy piece you left for the next season I can't wait but a side chapter just for Jade to come to terms with her issues sounds great also.
Keep writing your wonderful stories.

I did enjoy this last chapter, you handled everything very well. The grief, the machinations, the characterization was all very spot on. for what it's worth I feel you handled phobos character very well and I think it is best he died when he did...not only was it poetic...but now you can take season 2 in a original direction.
I look forward to seeing what you do next!

So very much worth the wait.
Loving the beatdown on Phobos, and legitimately surprised that he died. That's going to have an impact on your version of Season 2.
Liking the check-ins on the various factions' plotting. And great to see Valmont and the Enforcers finally show up; I hope we'll see more of them in Season 2.
I think you did a great job portraying everyone's grief and PTSD.
Great cliffhanger. I don't care how long it takes, I will wait with baited breath for Season 2, whether as part of this story or as a separate one.
Keep up the good work.

AWESOME! As always really wonderful work, as I dive into your story and you tug at my emotions. This was played so wonderful truly a grand way to end season 1 and start to set the stage for the challenges ahead, I LOVE IT!
Uncle Chan has passed on and the raw emotion and impact of it was highlighted wonderfully in seeing how all the characters are reacting and reeling from it. I'm so eager to see how it affects the family, guardians, and others going forward.
It's looking like we see bit of doubt Tohru will likely carry for some time before he truly believes himself a Chi Wizard that his sensei would be proud of.
Not to mention some family drama and resentment when it comes to Jade's parents, speaking of we see Jade leaving going through a portal to who knows where.
Question is why and where she's going, perhaps a soul searching journey though for better or ill that's another question.
Something tells me this might be connected to the master of the Calvacade's and shadow realm joy, and man that thing being in such a good mood is ominous enough but it's words toward Tarakudo about it's victory being his and a war to come, yeah spells bads things for the future.
Get the feeling that the conflict to come will make the rebellion look like a brawl between children, and can only wonder at what sides will be chosen, what friends or families will be torn about on opposing sides, and just what the Calvacade's Master stake and desire in all this might be, one thing's for sure it's going to be big.
Though the joy it's feeling certainly puts Tarakudo at edge not that you can blame him, but I doubt that this will stop his plans.
Phobos death was fitting for one of his arrogance with Jackie's strike from earlier a mere mortal man in his eyes, being what killed him some hours later as he died alone, a shell of himself, as a prisoner with only the manipulitive treacherous snake to witness it.
Oh yes truly fitting death for Phobos but in a way it gives one last victory against his enemies and meridian with him dying like that denies the people closure in many ways.
But while Phobos is gone many others are already on the move with Nerissa intending to gather her knights, the three brothers mysterious plan continues to develop with phase one complete, and the dark hand are working on somethign big the Big Rip Bomb and man that can't be good.
Personal theory I have is a bomb that affects the dimensional barriers between the worlds somehow, and only have that theory for the rip part of the name, and well because I doubt the Dark Hand would have a staff of wizards and skilled scientist working on a normal simple bomb no matter how powerful.
Of course while the dark hand works in the shadows it seems Captain Black has connected the dots and realized the truth in so many ways and now intends to oppose him with the allies he trusts most both in and outside of Section 13, let us hope that trust is well placed.
Hmm on a final note the Berserkers words earlier in the chapter or more accurately the demon behind the Berserker, well it's made me think that once more that phobos for all his insanity and evil truly was a pawn all along and not just by nerissa or the brothers oh no if the demons words are to go by someone or rather something else had a hand in his insanity.
All together truly brilliant work as always that really brings a smile to my face. :) And while I shall eagerly await the next chapter of this wonderful tale I shall be patient while you focus on your other works.
Though since chance I wont see another update for this for a while do wish to wish you a early merry christmas and happy new year just in case. :)

This was an awesome ending! It's just too bad Phobos died; besides being my favorite character, he had so much potential. Is there any chance he'll reappear? I can't wait for season 2!
