Walking through the stages of grief with Jack here, is so bittersweet. I hate that he has to go through this. There's no sense to death, and I'm glad that he doesn't ultimately make sense of it. Just taking the steps toward a new normal is all he, or anyone can do. No more thoughts, just LOVE.

Oh Stress... I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I can understand how it feels, a bit - my dad passed away almost 11 years ago. If there is anything I can do, you let me know, ok please?
I missed your writing so much, and this was beautiful - in that melancholy, heartbreaking way. You capture so much emotion with the smallest details. And I feel like I've been away from Newsies for so long that I'd forgotten some of those details - but reading this, even though a one shot, brought me back into that world and time period again.
