I waited for days to read this. Fought the urge to just read it in a rush. That would have be wrong. This story deserved so much more.
I waited until I was home alone and could immerse myself in it, savor every word. This story is THAT good. I can't tell you how awed I am. How jealous of your writing skills. Every piece of this story is flawless. The emotions, the depth, the insight into the characters (Ned and Nancy). No one does Ned better than you. *Sighs* You make him so masculine and honorable. The perfect guy for Nancy.
Yes, she holds back afraid to be hurt again, but she can't deny the connection between them. And you brought that connection out so subtly, so delicately ... I thought I was going to explode with anticipation!
I could gush and gush, but I won't. Just know, that I think this is the best story I've read on this site. I'll be coming back to it many times. Thank you for this story and all your others!

This is another wonderful story. I enjoyed the backdrop to each character, and how you really drew out (no pun intended) the changing feelings that Nancy finally had for Ned. How sassy and intelligent she is here, and you have painted a realistic scenario for her: she was in love in the past and used by someone who wanted something from her father. Surely, that would give anyone a complex! Ned was also complex- knowing how hard he had to work to make a name for himself, but being really interested in Nancy. Loved how he perfected his flirting techniques! (And how Nancy shot him down). Great interaction with them- witty, charged with sexual tension, and layered. As always, a good read. Thanks for taking the time to craft such a lovely story!
