So...When the Rebels get there first, Luke will say what a great fight Vader put up and how he managed to get him handcuffed to him.
Stole his cloak too.
Its a bit more dignified than being in Imperial baby reins where he is at the moment.

I really enjoy this story. Luke's courage in continually trying to escape is spot on, and Vader's exasperation and doting protectiveness are fun.

I wondered if Luke was gonna get a chance to make a break for it! And so he did. Sort of. (And the scenario played out pretty much exactly as I'd thought it might: falling off of things, meeting hungry things, and Darth Dad having to pull a Mufasa and rescue him. Appropriate, given James Earl Jones)
Now I can't help wondering how Luke is going to take the truth. Will it ease things because now he has an explanation for Vader's sudden extreme overprotective behavior, or will it make things harder knowing the guy who tortured him just a handful of hours ago is his own father?

Fascinated to see where this goes!
After interrogating and torturing the kid, Vader is definitely going to have his work cut out for him earning his trust, and it'll be interesting to see how he might try to fix that.
