I love this series! It's so much fun to read, in fact my only downside to it is that there's only one chapter per scenario even if I really want to read more about what happens next.

A wonderful piece.
I would almost request a sequel to extend this moment -and be able to discover what comes next?
This piece got me thinking a lot. Psychology and systematic mind manipulation.
Were you going from the perspective of thought:
- Vader the man buried under Sidious machinations - where the drugs, the dehumanization by encasing him with-in his machine body (or some go off the clone vs real Anakin thinking line) but has this left Anakin lost in his own inner deep pocket of the mind... a machine enforcer mostly a mindless drone or programmed (some think of it as split personality disorder) [in part his experience at Kenobi's betrayal] other's at [the moment where he was encased and told Padme and their child died] and the scream so intense it trapped him within his own mental mind- gave up.
Some even have gone so far as to theorize that Sidious might have ritualistically used that moment for a Dark side ceremonial practice that binds Anakin to his service.
- or controlled by the Dark Lord's dark side powers he is simply suppressed- given up, and only extreme emotional time does he surface. {I would say reliving Mustafar's battle duel would do this to him}
-But why did Darth Vader take up residence at Mustafar in the first place.? Another discussion for another time.
My original asking of you:
What mind set were you thinking when you wrote this piece. Would this have woken up Anakin and was his reason he called out "Son", as Luke listened...was it a plea for help from a deeper hidden part of himself - or subconscious reliving of a moment in time- he recognized without recognizing and the mind spoke over his mental state- because Luke his true son was near and the Force knows it's own... perhaps picking up on this from within.
Luke forced to played the part in order to try and escape (or the writer playing the will dealt card of the force).
Was it subconscious part Darth Vader's obsessive drive to bring in the Pilot "Skywalker" and which part his last words? (Ankain's underlying personality) crying out for help and monopolizing on the opportunity to find and save himself with the help of his son)? That he now reverts back with those last words.
I'm wondering if a more sutler influence of his mind overcoming the Darkside...
I think it was your ending which has me asking.
Why does he say "Foolish Child"?
Yes we see THE Vader return, but as I say- there needs to be a next moment to see if this is writers liberties or just ending with showing Luke's toast...or can there be more...can we see a return or a deeper something from those last ending two words?
