If you ever decide to pick this up again, it would be helpful to not be expected to remember what happened in the Dr Who episodes.

Not an outside source. But I can see how some would think that.
Magic came from Eve the first woman. Adam never had the gene for magic. It was put in Eve to help her with difficult things like defending herself when Adam was out roaming around with the animals. She handing it down thru birth to her daughter .It stayed with the female side of the family til 200 years after the flood and then it finally showed up in the males of the newborn.
And it multiplyed .
