The Targaryens did all those shit without repercussions and Joan still forgave them lmao she should've stayed North and never came back. I always hated child abuse being used as a tool for character development and the child staying as morally good as an adult. One of the reason that child abuse is not seen as bad as murder when it should've been seen as one is because literature and motion pictures always romanticized it.

Best part of the story were the interactions between Joan and The Mad King. I love the original and unique approach. The last two paragraphs of her running to him made the story for me.
